anyway remember when at the end of the war in heaven aziraphale took a bandage off his own wound to give to his enemy? remember the garden of eden where an angel sheltered a demon with his wing, a callback to when they were both still angels? remember when they, barely knowing each other, worked together to deceive angels because god wanted to kill some kids for a bet? and crowley tempted aziraphale into eating for the first time, something that would become one of his favourite things? remember rome, when aziraphale tempted crowley into trying oysters? remember when they formed "the arrangement", ostenibly so they could do less work, but it meant they kept meeting to discuss? remember when crowley made hamlet popular because aziraphale gave him puppy dog eyes? remember when aziraphale got locked up in the bastille, waited for crowley to come rescue him bc he couldn't do miracles, and then immediately did a miracle to change his clothes? and then they got crepes? remember when they met up in edinburgh just because crowley wanted to show aziraphale a funny statue? and then crowley gets dragged back to hell bc he did a good deed? what about when crowley asked aziraphale for holy water, and aziraphale said no bc he was worried it would destroy crowley? or when crowley walks on consecrated ground to save aziraphale from being discorporated, and trusts aziraphale to save them both from the bombs? but aziraphale forgets his beloved books, but crowley saves them for him? and then aziraphale does a magic trick with crowley that requires him to have complete trust in the shooter? and what about how crowley thought furfur had the picture, but chose to spend the night drinking wine with aziraphale anyway? and how about when aziraphale returns to give crowley the holy water, bc he's worried crowley will get hurt in the process of stealing it? remember when the antichrist is born and crowley persuades aziraphale to raise a child with him, so they can try to stop the end of the world? and then crowley asks aziraphale to run away with him? and aziraphale says no, and the bookshop burns down, and crowley loses his best friend. but aziraphale comes back, and the world is saved, and aziraphale stays the night at crowley's flat because they're on their own side now, and they manage to get heaven and hell to leave them alone. and they get to dine at the ritz. and then gabriel comes along and causes some problems but aziraphale sets up a ball so he has an excuse to dance with crowley. and they see gabriel and beelzebub go off together and get a happy ending. and aziraphale gets a chance to fix things, make heaven good as it should be, but crowley won't go back, and crowley wants aziraphale to run off with him, be an us, after they spent their lives pretending they won't. and aziraphale can't because he wants to stop heaven destroying the world so they can be an us. and they spend years apart, but crowley still stays near the bookshop. crowley gives up his beloved bentley to save the bookshop. and aziraphale comes back and they finally start working together again and you think maybe, they'll finally get to be together. maybe they can finally be safe and happy and open together
