QUESTION!

Oh tis been a minute. While Ive never forgotten Oranhamme I also became really shy to share him because I became rather self conscious on how he looked. He is probably THE MOST difficult character of mine to draw. Whether it was his colors, his clothing, his proportions, I'd always not be happy with something.

Fairy has always had a bit of a Jester vibe and so Ive always drawn them in Jester fits here and there.

Never figured out a solid fit but I may just be onto cracking that finally!

Oof this turned into a bigger art dump than intended buut I feel like there is a lot to share here thats all connected so it felt right to put it all together.

If youve been around a reaaaaally long time then maybe some of these guys will look familiar. I wouldnt call this stuff a revamp so much as an evolution? Idk. Its interesting because some characters will not be at the forefront of my mind for a while and yet when they do come back they have grown with me. I think thats something special.

Anyways some explanation and introductions below.

Some pokemon sketchbook pages from over the past month. Pokemon is just one of those things I go to when Im feeling blocked.

Was having silly doodles of the new starters in a few of these.

If you're not big on pokemon ocs then I got a lot of silly doodles of JUST pokemon here. I think some of these were experimenting with sona ideas but ultimately I think these just function as fun pokemon idas as well.

Ive been attempting to draw Fairy as a pokemon trainer for years but I think I just never really sat down to think about it and actually try to translate them. I kept moreso trying to get a 1-1 and I think that threw me off quite a bit.

Well hello.

Its been some time but I have been thinking of giving tumblr another try…again.

Mainly because Ive been missing long form writing and sharing thoughts about characters along with the art. I dont care for the short form posts for that sort of thing.

Decided to come back with some work of Fairy! Ive been wanting to really do some solid ideas for Fairy. A lot of their design has changed and probably will continue to do so over the years but I had some fun design quirks I felt like putting down!

Been wanting to delve into dreamons again but not necessarily on twitter so maybe this tumblr will have a use again.

Lots of Fairy fits. Their main fit has always been a bit difficult for me to design. It had to be something simple but striking. For them I wanted something you could identify them with. Like Mario with his overalls, Sonic with his shoes, Chopper with his hat. It had to be something a lil surreal though. A little otherworldly. I dont know if Ive quite nailed it but I feel like Im definitely closer each time.
