dean was freshly out of hell, and if i remember right he was down there for eighty years instead of forty. cas was in hell as well, he fell/was cast out? i think for exercising free will on a mission. he, dean, and meg all had an odyssey-style journey to get to the portal to earth. he and cas met charlie topside, and she sort of fell into hunting. dean was mute, or selectively mute, so charlie taught him some bits of asl.

i believe john was resurrected since dean didn't break? he had a 'torturer' that sort of annoyed him into saying yes? uriel kept appearing in his dreams to give him orders/messages, and john and ruby had insane beef. i think sam found out dean was topside, and he, bobby, ruby, and jo and ellen were trying to find him, and they kidnapped charlie at some point???
