Updated World Map (Surface/Caves)
.
.
.
After further developing my understanding of each biome, geographical features, climate, and other aspects of my world, I've decided to update my natural map (and political map, but that'll come later!). This one is more in-depth and has many more names for various geographical features. I've also changed some names to reflect the different regions better (in relation to the terrans who live there). I've also illustrated a lot more biomes/landscapes, which will be posted in the future.

Godly Wurms
.
Godly Wurms, despite resembling the Wurms seen on Terra are not true Wurms. These are merely tools/representations for the 3 Major Gods to use to interact with Terrans and Terra from the outside, and provide guidance within the Solar/Lunar dimensions. They just look like Wurms because that's how Terrans perceive them if encountered. They resemble the God they represent, have similar abilities, and are enormous compared to regular wurms.
Solar Wurm (Similar to the grim reaper, these Wurms take the souls from the recently deceased to the Solar dimension to be wiped clean and recycled)
Terran Wurm (These are protectors of balance within Terra's ecosystem, and bring on change, whether good or bad, some say they are the harbringers of natural disasters and extinction events)
Lunar Wurms (These Wurms exist within the Lunar dimension and have the job of packaging new souls and bringing them to Terra for birth)
*I'll go into the process of birth and death within my world in another post as well as the Gods, but I wanted to share these alongside the regular wurms.
Wurms!!
.
Wurms are the domesticated livestock that descended from the Fur Wurm of Vergund. While Fur Wurms still roam the prairies and shrublands of Vergund, these Wurms were specialized and bred for specific attributes that make them useful to Terrans in many ways. Wurms perform many roles, such as hunting, pulling loads, protection, and companionship. They also produce distinct fibers between the different breeds, which gives them their names. They inhabit every continent and are seen in most cultures and civilizations. These are the main 9 breeds:
Velvet Wurm (Vulcune/Pyrriaah, produces a soft, fire-resistent fiber)
Cotton Wurm (Aeon Caves, produces a soft fiber, smallest wurm)
Cashmere Wurm (Viriland, Free Plateau, produces a soft fiber)
Linen Wurm (Cherrana, Vale Domain, Aero Kingdom, produces a lightweight fiber)
Leather Wurm (Aero Kingdom, Tempestan, doesn't produce fiber, skin is used for leather, strong/durable)
Silk Wurm (Vincania, produces a silky, water-proof fiber)
Hemp Wurm (Greater Anaconda, Arbasia, produces a strong rough fiber)
Coir Wurm (Azuraii, produces a strong, water-proof fiber)
Wool Wurm (Azur Dynasty, Void Caves, produces a warm, water-proof fiber)
*Wurms can come in all kinds of blood colors, but these represent the most common, obviously due to occurrence, desirability, and usefulness in certain areas.
Void Caves Fauna:
The Void Caves is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the darkly lit, stable conditions that encompass this biome. Most species have developed some form of biotenebrisis that can be used to attract Umbrous spirits, blend into their environment, as well as signal others to hide. Species have adapted to the Dark element which allows for these animals to travel through shadows/darkness, have night vision, and acclimate to solar storm events. There have been many influences, migrations, and adaptations from the surface that have brought in many species of fish, amphibians from Glacilea into the depths of the Aeon Caves.

Verglas Ridge Fauna:
The Verglas Ridge is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the freezing, barren glacial landscape that splits the continent of Glacilea in two. This biome features massive glaciers/glacial remnants, little to no vegetation, high snow depth in higher elevation, and a low lying coastline to the south. This coastline is home to most of the fauna of this biome as the lower elevation, flowing glacial rivers, access to the ocean, and exposed lichen makes this biome somewhat habitable to animal life and creates a functional ecosystem that's not found in higher elevations. Species have adapted to the Water element which provides protection against freezing temperatures, drowning, and allows for adaptive swimming especially within the cold waters.

Azul Taiga Fauna:
The Azul Taiga is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the coniferous forest within central Glacilea, on the western side of the Verglas Glacier. Similarly to the Scarlet Taiga, this biome features long cold winters, sparse precipitation (except in Azura), and glacial remnants. Species have adapted to the Water element which provides protection against freezing temperatures, drowning, and allows for adaptive swimming. Unlike the biodiverse Cerulean Wilds this biome is sparse in terms of tree variety and undergrowth which has influenced the adaptation of larger fauna that is better adapted for the colder weather.

Cerulean Wilds Fauna:
The Cerulean Wilds is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the dense tropical rainforest that encompasses the north and eastern side of Glacilea. This biome features dense, layered forests as well tons of rivers, streams, lakes, and waterfalls that originate from the Verglas Glacier all of which feed into this rich, biodiverse ecosystem. Species have adapted to the Water element which provides protection from drowning, enormous rainfall, and tropical cyclones and also allows for adaptive swimming. This biome is very biodiverse and features an array of many small animals that benefit from the dense foliage to avoid predation, as well as large grazers that benefit from rivers, lakes, and the treeless areas they create.

Coral Atoll Fauna:
The Coral Atoll is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the fertile plains, rolling hills, and sprawling atolls that make up western Glacilea. This biome features a network of rivers and streams that brings fresh water from the Verglas Glacier down throughout the fertile plains and exits into the Lunar Sea. These plains are nearly treeless, only supporting small shrubbery and swaths of tall grass on top of the pale blue sediment. Species have adapted to the Water element which provides protection from drowning and also allows for adaptive swimming between rivers and the atolls. Most of the fauna here live along the coastline/atolls as the ecosystem is most productive along the ocean waters.

Sapphire Islands Fauna:
The Sapphire Islands is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the tropical island chain that lies between the Sirrocious and Alluvious Oceans on the equator. These islands are interconnected yet unique amongst one another as each island hosts unique fauna not seen anywhere else, which gives it the title of the most biodiverse biome on Terra. Due to the location of these islands, the most northern islands are not affected by tropical cyclones and are considered peaceful, perfect islands, however the southern portion do get tropical cyclones every year which most of the fauna have adapted too. Species have adapted to the Water element which provides protection from drowning, enormous rainfall and waves from tropical cyclones and also allows for adaptive swimming between the islands. This biome acts as a sort of melting pot for all sorts of fauna from around the world to interact and exchange due to its central location and branches that connect into the caves below.

Sappy Swamp Fauna:
The Sappy Swamp is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the dense tropical jungle located in southwest Vergund within Greater Anaconda. This jungle features dense layered tropical forests in the north, swampy conditions in the south with vast waterways that cut up this vast jungle. This biome is very biodiverse and features a diverse array of animals that occupy various niches specific to a jungle/wetland environment. Species have adapted to the Ground element which lets them sense seismic activity as well traversing through tough terrain, but similarly to the Salted Sands the fauna here occupy more swampy/wetland niches which combine the Ground element with Water.

Willow Rift Fauna:
The Willow Rift is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the highly elevated mountain ranges that dominate Vergund (Free Plateau, Emerald Mountains, Chryso Mountains). Due to the high elevation, there is a lack of vegetation, little biodiversity, and a harsh, dangerous terrain that makes it nearly impossible to traverse and acclimate to. Similarly to the Verdant Grove, Species have adapted to the Ground element which has allowed traversing the dangerous terrain possible as well as being able to sense seismic activity. The fauna here have adapted to the elevation by growing larger or smaller (dependent on niche), developing complex lungs to acclimate to the low oxygen environment, and developing ways to climb/hike through the mountains without interference.

Verdant Grove Fauna:
The Verdant Grove is home to unique fauna that have adapted to the towering coniferous forest located on the eastern side of Vergund and extends to the south. This forest is home to the tallest trees on Terra and features deep underbrush, deep rivers, and lakes, and has a rough/rocky terrain that can make it hard to traverse. Species have adapted to the Ground element which has allowed traversing dangerous terrain possible as well as being able to sense seismic activity. The fauna here has adapted to life in this dense forest by developing darker, duller, or greener colors to blend in as well as occupying niches similarly to the Scarlet Taiga, except without the worry of a long cold winter.
