This is good information to know.

Investment - you have to care about why your protagonist is on this journey. Grief and hurt over the past is not enough, there needs to be a good reason why they continue the fight, and don't go live a quiet life in the country. As Sun is starting to gradually break open with Kajorn and Sky, and become emotionally invested in them and their well-being, he gets to be the protective son and older brother he failed at being for his birth family.

Challenge - the revenge can't be easy. If Bank was just some selfish actor with no power, it wouldn't be nearly as satisfying for Sun to reach the peak of his vengeance. But Bank actively works to harm others. This is why the lackeys are important, as stages for Sun to work his way through. This is why the harm (though infuriating) against Sun's allies is needed; there is going to be an escalation as we see that our enemy is a genuine challenge, and in many ways, are bringing down their own fate upon themselves.

Validation - this is the other party who supports our protagonist, and sees their innate worth throughout the experience. In many ways, the audience surrogate. This is Moon Dong Eun's headsman, and her right hand woman in The Glory; in Payback this is Jay. They don't fall for the facade of the enemy, they see the truth of the protagonist. This is the person who instead of "are you sure", says "how can I help you". They say "you are everything to me as you are, trauma and all".

Meaning - revenge stories can work when the protagonist walks away sad and lonely at the end, but for the most satisfying catharsis, it needs to be about the protagonist rediscovering themself and their capacity to love and feel and find purpose once again after their trauma. The revenge can only truly be satisfying when we know our hero, flawed though he may be, will carry on to a life where he finds purpose beyond revenge.

1. How do you lose a Giraffe? She apparently scaled a cliff that served as part of the enclosure (which the other giraffes in the herd had shown no interest in climbing.)

2. Well it should be easier to find her, she's a whole ass giraffe? Yeah, you'd think, but Texas ranches are fuckin huge. The man has apparently hired a helicopter and several drones to aide the search, but no luck yet. She's been seen on some game cameras on the nearby ranches though. But she's sneaky.
