Ingredients: 1 bottle red wine. 1/4 cup honey. 1 orange, sliced. 8 whole cloves. 2 cinnamon sticks. 1 teaspoon whole allspice berries. 1 teaspoon whole cloves.
Instructions: In a large saucepan, combine the red wine and honey. Add the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, allspice berries, and additional cloves. Heat the mixture over medium heat until steaming but not boiling, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for another 15-20 minutes to infuse the flavors. Strain the mulled wine into serving mugs and discard the solids. Serve hot, garnished with an orange slice or cinnamon stick if desired.
