It's a unique type of frustration when you agree that a character is deeply flawed but other people keep missing what's actually wrong with them and assigning them new flaws that they don't even have it's like free my man he did none of that. He did a bunch of other shit tho.

IMO real people can't queerbait but even IF real people could 'queerbait', like 'celebrities who aren't gay pretending to be gay for clout' was an actual real social problem, you have to weigh harms. even if we believe this is harmful (i don't), what's more harmful: letting people "queerbait" and risking the potential that some straight celebrity gets clout for seeming gay (???), or calling out "queerbaiting" and risking the potential that the person you're harassing is actually closeted and you're forcing someone to out themselves before they're ready? imo, even if we buy that 'celebrities queerbaiting' is a real thing that harms people, it's always going to be much more harmful to reinforce the norm that anyone acting slightly queer HAS to come out or risk public shaming
