Like we expect the tension between Firstborn and Primaris, right? Who are these big new upstart puppies who come in here and don't know our ways or our culture but think they can just, literally, muscle on in.

But also

there's a valid concern about the LOYALTY of these new Cawl's Gift Blood Angels. In Astorath, they keep griping about how when they were on a *proper* crusade and when they were commanded correctly etc, and they refer to the Lord Regent Guilliman as the ultimate source of their loyalty. They're nominally loyal to their own new Chapters, they kinda respect Dante, but they venerate Guilliman.

Which, he IS a Primarch, and the last best hope of the Empire and the closest anyone can get to the Emperor

he's not THEIR primarch, he's the guy who was more than 9 hours too fucking late,

and it sits weirdly and their loyalty is kinda rightfully questioned. I didn't expect to read Blood Angels arguing with other Blood Angels about how great Bobby G is.

Add to that (my stars I sound like a Guilliman hater but...) Guilliman might intend it that way. No gift is given for free without strings. What if they were encoded with deep loyalty to Guilliman? It's not like his Legion hasn't, uh, MYSTERIOUSLY GOTTEN BIGGER after the death of Primarchs before. He hedges all his bets and who could blame him for being a little extra cautious with all the new going on?

I think he honestly thought they were free of the curse of the blood. I think they WERE free of the Thirst and the Rage, till they joined real Blood Angels. So that's a monkey wrench he probably wasn't expecting.

If you could STOP reading some sort of passive aggressive bullshit into everything I say, it would be immensely helpful.

Because here's the thing: maybe I'm actually really hurt by what you're saying but putting on a brave face about it. So maybe it's not 100% sincere because I don't want my stupid emotional hurt to become the main event. You know, trying to be an adult with all that emotional regulation and shit? Because that is an adult thing, to be hurt or angry or whatever and decide that nah, this person isn't the one who should have to deal with that shit.

So maybe it's not sincere, but it's not some backstabbing petty passive aggression. That's your projection. That's you, kind of showing that you think I'm a shitty person and that's something I can't fix.
