The Black Parade (a fancomic)

ABOUT:

The Black Parade (a fancomic) is a multi-chaptered comic 'adaptation’ of the album The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance, which chronicles a young man struck by a cancer prognosis — and the cruel, frenetic grim reaper that is patiently waiting to take him. 

All dialogue is compromised of song lyrics from each track, with the artist’s interpretation forming a singular narrative. Consider it a... musical drama? A supernatural or horror-inspired dramedy? Depressionville, USA?

Not all songs on the original Black Parade album will be in chronological order from the tracklist, but they will all be featured.

Updates will be five pages a piece, and will be posted sporadically but as soon as I can; time between updates entirely depends on my life/work schedule!

CHAPTER FOUR: ?????

Hello everyone! Recently I've been slow to update (even more than usual, eck) due to needing to focus on costs of home updates! More specifically, I've been taking on oodles of commissions and pushing my hobbies to the wayside so I can finally have a shower, bathroom, and sink, which I had painfully gone without for about 2 years now. Lots of going to other family member's homes to do basic bathroom things, lol!

But as you know, The Black Parade DID complete Volume 1! Which I'm so happy about, and I appreciate everyone's support. I'm still a ways away from offering physical copies of anything, but I did want to let you know that in order to help with some costs of living, I've decided to put a glorified tip jar up on gumroad for the first volume!

It's a $3 PDF with pages of better quality than what you'd find on the free to read websites. Please note, you do not have to buy it in order to read The Black Parade! This is solely if you would like to help support the artist as she combats the final leg of her bathroom adventures.

Thank you so much for your kindness. I would say collecting references for poses is very important -- references are your friends! That includes taking pictures of any action figures you may have, or even pictures of friends/family who will pose for you. And try not to take any shortcuts in your art if you can help it. Draw more backgrounds; draw hands; draw things that you struggle with! Draw things poorly over and over until they improve!

Thanks to The Black Parade and MCR, for example, I've had to learn how to draw instruments, which I hated to do at the time, but it was only ever a benefit for my art to do it regardless. ;P I also put TBP comic in Los Angeles and it made me face having to draw more buildings and backdrops.
