My biggest pet peeve with the "Batman should break his no kill rule" is like. People genuinely act like he's the only superhero around. If he doesn't want to kill people it's his right, if someone really needs to be killed there's THOUSANDS of other superheros (many much more powerful than him) that will kill people.
Like I get out of universe we know the only chance (and it's a 0,0000000000001% chance) that Joker dies is if Batman kills him but like. Batman doesn't know about editorial mandates. In his FICTIONAL universe, there's like 10'000 people who are perfectly willing to kill people who could when Batman is, idk, in space with the justice league or he's otherwise unable to stop it from happening and it just... doesn't happen??? He doesn't have to be the one that kills him. Other people can kill him. Stop acting like batman is the only dude around.

I'm so happy that everyone is enjoying College Daze by the way. You're all insane and I say that with love, it's almost hit top 10 status in my statistics. In. What's it been? Less than a week.
I've been having a lot of fun with the, "if interpersonal drama isn't manufactured to be the primary conflict in the story, what does the actual conflict become?" thing. Like if Oliver isn't allowed to bail on Sandra, what happens? If Sandra doesn't get wrapped up with lame guys and is actually treated with dignity, what happens? How does that change Connor's trajectory while still staying true to his character? What happens to Bruce when he isn't allowed to sabotage himself? What happens to Batman when he has someone that doesn't let the depression win in the PTSD soup?

my greatest fear when it comes to writing dc comics fanfiction is that no one has read the comic you're referencing and also everyone has read the comic you've never heard of that directly contradicts everything you are typing
