my hc is shane’s grandparents do not swear at all. they are very proper and strict with their words, so whenever the family have dinner together ilya sees shane and yuna being very polite and did not swear at all the entire time. he shoots glances at david and david looks at him like we’ll debrief later. they get into the car after dinner and yuna and shane let out a string of fuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkk at the same time and david laughs and ilya’s face brightens with glee. they fill him in on how shane’s grandparents were so strict growing up that if they catch yuna swearing she’d be writing “i must not swear” 100 times. obviously that didn’t stop her

day ?? no heated rivalry i personally love to imagine shane with a cat that is basically his familiar. an extension of himself. his shadow. female, elegant, either black or gray. swats at ilya when shane is not looking, polite when he is in the room. sleeps on their bed, next to shane’s head, curled up on the space next to his pillow. whenever he gets up to go somewhere she gets up and goes with him. follows him to the kitchen, the bathroom, the gym. he paces while talking on the phone, she walks in circles with him. she’s often perched atop the fridge so that she can keep an eye on everything. ilya adores her obviously. shane speaks to her in a very sensible tone of voice as if she could understand him. good morning, how are you, here’s your lunch, please do not swat my husband. if he’s lying on the couch napping she sleeps in the center of his chest on top of his heart with her head tucked under his chin. she can tell when he is sad or overwhelmed and climbs into his lap or jumps onto the nearest surface to headbutt him. he emotionally regulates himself with the help of her purring. extremely spoiled and remarkably well behaved. finicky. the brand of cat food shane buys her is probably like $70 a bag. am i painting a clear picture does anyone share my vision

I do love how popular heated rivalry has been getting but i also feel like some are just using it for other reasons. Miley Cyrus said that she is down to do music for the second season yet she’s never even watched the show or read the book. Francois was like (in his most polite way possible) WATCH THE SHOW FIRST AND THEN WE’LL SEE. I love that it’s popular but also, can we like it because it’s great and not for attention? how are you going to stand there and be like yeah HR is soooooo good but I haven’t watched or read the books, but I’m sure it’s good????? Hudson said that closeted athletes have reached out anonymously to him. yeah the show has you screaming, crying, happy but it also hits you in the feels. representation DOES FUCKING MATTER. some don’t think this will help athletes come out but I love what it’s doing. I hope it can make athletes feel safe to come out. I wish it was safe for all of us. series like this do help. it helps when you can see a version of yourself (bisexual Slav here) on screen and how you can relate. To add on to this, I'm also loving seeing everyone love this show, but as a Canadian I'm just begging Americans to let us keep it as true to its Canadian roots as it is. I didn't realize how much actually hearing Canadian place names said correctly, hearing Canadian pronunciations used, seeing sets and backgrounds that make me go "holy shit this feels like home"(shout out to standing outside a rink in the prairies trying not to freeze to death 😂), hearing Canadian music and artists, could matter to me. Please just let us have this one thing haha. Kind of feel like you owe it to us after this past year.
