I just couldn’t figure it out I tried When there was nowhere left to run I’d hide From myself from the world Particularly myself When I couldn’t find a way The drugs helped But they didn’t, not really Never could numb me completely Couldn’t really escape these feelings Of defeat Despondency Despair,

And now I’m here Far away from home Surrounded by people Entirely alone.

What is the one thing that you long for the most?

Now this was asked of the coolest, calmest person I know, Without even thinking, off the top of his head He opened his mouth, and Peace is what he said.

Just that one word, I was shocked, I was floored I couldn’t believe what I had heard

Peace he had in abundance I thought, Oh the destruction his mind must have wrought.

His poor old soul His poor old bones Carrying the weight of his shattered hopes.

He was distraught, defeated and dejected Not at all cool, calm or collected. Damn.

Yes, I do go to school! I just wanna say thank you for reading my poetry and liking it :) I think its awesome you’re starting to write poetry. It may be hard at first to keep coming up with new poetry everyday but inspiration is everywhere. Experiences and imagination’s a powerful tool. Haha practice makes perfect too. Good luck!
