since seeing clips of the new atla/tloa movie, I was thrusted back in the building, so I decided to heavily re-vamp and old oc I had

OK IM FINALLY DONE WITH THEM!!! YIPPIE WAHOOOO!!! THE GAANG AS PONIES!! :’D

Toph was a blank flank for most of her life, not getting it at the age when ponies usually get theirs. Which added to her parents over protection of her since they assumed she would be a blank flank for life.

She just said cuties marks didn’t matter to her and that they were dumb, like, a mark on your flank telling you what you’re gonna do for life ugh (that’s a lie she cares about it a lot, and was scared what that meant for her place in the world)

When she started secretly competing in under-ground bending competitions, she thought that was how she would get her mark (but it wasn’t), she got her cutie mark when she metal bended for the first time, and was ecstatic when Sokka pointed it out (fake idgaf-er) her cutie mark looks like a piece of metal with a hoof print in it.

Katara also lacked a cutie mark for awhile, though it didn’t bother her as much, she still actively sought for it. She thought that she would gain it though doing something water-bending related, resulting in her putting a lot of effort into it.

She earned her cutie mark through releasing Aang from the ice sphere, her cutie mark being an ice sphere with water surrounding it, which ties to her destiny of helping Aang win the war and becoming a water-bending master with it.

Aang wasn’t always an Alicorn, he was born a pegasai, all air nomads are pegasai but not every pegasai is an air-bender, he earned his horn when he created a new difficult air-bending move, almost exactly at the same time the monks were going to tell him he was the avatar. When he came out of the iceberg (and even for time after) he would actively hide his cutie mark. His cutie mark is the spirit of Raava inside an air sphere.

(All avatars are alicorns, and have similar looking cutie marks but are all different, their only similar trait is having the spirit of Raava somewhere)

Sokka was also a blank flank for a long time, which didn’t matter to him too much, he always knew he was going to be a warrior, cutie mark or not. But as time went on watching Aang with his mark, Katara get her mark, then Toph; he began to feel a sense of inadequacy, that he wasn’t as good as everyone else, that he wasn’t worthy.

So when Katara suggested having time with a master he jumped to the punch. He trained with Master Piandao, made his meteorite sword, and gained his cutie mark during the fight with Piandao. His cutie mark is his boomerang crossed with his meteorite sword.

Zuko (yet again) is another long time blank flank, which very much added to his father’s distain of him. It gave him so much doubt and added to the pile of shame he’s felt over the years, and was a major point of ridicule from Azula.

It was only when he defected from his father and joined the Gaang and lost his fire-bending did Zuko finally gain his cutie mark. It was when the dragons were judging him and he learned the true meaning of fire-bending, his cutie mark is two dragons twisting around a crown (like the Caduceus medical symbol).

This was during season 2, when they were trying to get Jim back from the dark lands. As everyone was given their roles for Jims rescue, Kanjigar told Lyra “You must not be afraid of becoming, and realizing that it is a part of you. For it will be crucial in your escape.” In a sense she somewhat knew what he meant.

They were running from Gunmar’s forces back to the bridge when she got separated from Jim and the others, stuck in a reflective cavern, when she felt herself changing. For centuries Lyra has always felt cursed, in part being due to her immortality, and in part for being able to turn into a beast. She had never turned fully before, just some parts when she felt she was losing an uphill emotional battle.
