Got to do something cool last Saturday. 😏

Conventions are fun, but dang it they can be overwhelming at times for me. It was worth it though, I got to meet Kate and have her sign my linocut Threshold print! I do wish I could have gotten the print signed before the photo op with her, but I wasn't able to make that work. During the photo op she asked if I had made it and said it was beautiful! They move everyone through so quickly to keep things moving, I'm not sure she even had the time to recognize it was Threshold art. She did get to look at it closer when she signed it and joked about Threshold.

As I was leaving her table I did say "Not to be weird about it, but you are really fun to draw!" She thought that was funny and said something to the effect of how her mother (who was an artist) had told Kate that it was hard to catch her likeness at times. There was some background noise at this point so I'm not sure I quite got exactly what she said.

I did realize after I had left that it would have made a lot more sense to tell her that if I had either had her sign or shown her one of her portraits I've drawn. But oh well, maybe she just thought I was even more of a threshold freak than I looked. Hahaha

I can only speak for myself, but I know salamanders are amphibians, and I still refer to them as lizards or salamanders interchangeably.

I do this purely based on what sounds funnier to me in the moment. It's a silly episode so I'll be silly in what I call them.🖖🏼

My daughter has just discovered that Threshold Day approacheth.

"What do we do for Threshold Day?" she asks, quite beside herself with excitement.

"I'M GOING TO MAKE ART. RIGHT NOW,“ she cries, leaping off the couch. "EXAMPLES, I NEED EXAMPLES!*"

She has asked me to show you this thrilling beginning, and then also, later, her completed work.

*Notably, she told me, the bigger salamander was busy eating soup. She does not know about Tom Paris Hot Plain Tomato Soup, so I can only assume I passed this sacred knowledge down to her genetically.
