Personally, I find the lunar nodes among the most interesting facets of astrology, as they can describe pretty succinctly the journey of the soul, whether individual or collective. The North Node represents what we are striving towards and attempting to embody; the South Node, that which we must overcome, let go, leave behind, and so on. We all have this signature somewhere in our natal chart, indicating where tends our most profound quest for emotional and spiritual development.

Events on the national and global stage of late have proved more clearly than ever the cracks in our sociopolitical systems. Those at the top have exploited and abused said flaws for many decades, which has always resulted in the more vulnerable among us suffering; now taken to extremes, both the abuses and their consequences are occurring in plain sight. If we’re going to foster a better world for everyone, we must thoroughly deconstruct the existing problems.

The journey between gregarious, open Libra and intense, silent Scorpio is in part about recognising the value of introspection in the ongoing search for truth. Libra tends to find meaning through relationships of all kinds; here, we learn about ourselves – individually and collectively – by interacting with others. In Scorpio, we become much more aware of our internal mechanisms, and the profound wisdom they can confer in quiet and solitary moments. Scorpio season can be a time of thorough reckoning, as we dive into our personal mysteries.

It would appear each of us is called at this time to face collective challenges, and play our part in the associated lessons for our society. As individuals, we cannot solve current problems in their entirety; we can, however, make a conscious choice in our personal lives to be part of the solution.

Remember that the macrocosm reflects the microcosm, and vice versa. Broader circumstances aside, it may be worth carefully considering any dispute or irritation or impasse in our personal lives, and what we could do to calm the waters (always provided we are safeguarding our wellbeing and that of others affected). Perhaps there is a way to restore peace; a concession that can be offered, a kindness given, a period of grace implemented, an agreement reached. I imagine no movement in the right direction can be dismissed as too small. Each may be precious; any could become a critical action. Such is our capacity as a species. We are the power, and the power is in us.

It might currently seem as if (so to speak) the wind is blowing in a highly specific direction, prompting us to rush forward without delay; I suspect, however, that this New Moon may be inviting us at minimum to take time for reflection, ground ourselves, and listen to our bodies and hearts, which offer better information than late-stage capitalism would have us believe.

As has been thoroughly demonstrated in recent weeks, there is nothing an evil person enjoys so much as getting away with breaking rules and restrictions; and there is nothing they so abhor as when a boundary they attack remains solid.

The process of demonisation always involves lies, and therein lies its ultimate weakness; for however long a deception continues, it is invariably discovered. Truth contains intrinsic power which renders it impossible to subdue entirely.
