I can’t read Japanese that much, especially when there’s no furigana, but somehow I still insists on buying my manga in the original Japanese version even though there’s an English version already available.

Case in point, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto and Yubisaki to Renren. Kusuriya I bought the Kurata version and that one has no furi. It took every single drop of my stale brain juice trying to read unaided. The other one I already read the official English version.

It feels like I’m trying too hard to be a weaboo lmao but in actuality I have this weird “hobby” to compare translation to another. I like how different people can interpret things differently. I like how English is conveyed in Japanese, and vice versa. They have a very different approach to some parts and that’s why I kept on self-learning for 20years. Can’t speak for shit though lol
