brain buddies!

Hey everyone! Though this project is far from finished i wanted to finally introduce something i have been working one for a couple weeks now.

The project is called System Structures (title is a WIP).

This project aims to bridge the gap between medical literature and the way the system community describes its experiences. As many are aware, a lot of the terms the community uses today are not terms often used in medical / psychiatric literature. Which for a community of this scale and one being so diverse makes a lot of sense; especially when considering a lot of the biggest DID research comes from before the 2010s.

This leaves an odd gap between how the community describes things and how the medical community describes things. More often than not finding good sources on the topic is near impossible. Unless you happen to have a library with lots of articles on the topic and a lot of time on your hands, which lets be honest a lot of us don't have.

This is where the project comes in. I have been spending the last couple of weeks looking through all the medical books, articles and research i can get my hands on in hopes of finding refrence to four categories.

Subsystems, Sidesystems, Headspace / Innerworlds, and Layers.

As someone who is a polyfragmented system it has been a struggle to find legitimate information on the subject. What counts as a complex system structure? what types of systems have exclusive types of structures and why? How do you figure out about having X structure if your not in the place to get professional help? the list really goes on.

This part is where the community here comes in! I have made a google form which aims to get the opinion of the community. Having medical sources is great and all but if it isn't helpful to the people who use it then what's the point?

The form covers the four categories mentioned above, I aim to go into other ones in the future but these four are my main points of interest. You do not have to share any information you are not comfortable with in this form, and the only person who will have access to it is myself. With this information i aim to create more accurate term definitions, provide sources (and their references) as well as help create terms that may be currently lacking!
