re: marius with the short hair, i'm not encouraged by this introduction because he operates as a foil for magnus in that he actually wants to talk to lestat and answer many of his questions instead of just providing money and immortality after a brutal assault. i'm also confused as to why they moved the mass destruction of vampires from ~10 BCE to 1802 because like marius' Whole Thing is that he's kind of a fuck up in other areas of his life (pandora, armand, bianca, mael, etc) because his overriding drive is to tend to akasha and enkil and protect them from destruction. like they can show that the wheels are coming off for him without that particular detail (that, frankly, would have destroyed lestat and gabrielle/gabriella. but hey i just know the lore. @ amc i can be the keeper of the lore for rolin jones, it's fine!)

and like the thing is that we're reaching a point in the story that is VERY lore and ancient history heavy, so not only am i concerned about marius with the short hair and this potentially already dead enkil, i'm concerned about the budget that's needed to show instead of tell about the events that occured in ~4000 BCE that created important foundational beefs among the ancients.
