The Nest

[Please note: This comic was made before we became very familiar with our system and who all is a part of it, meaning some "sets" as mentioned will be inaccurate. There may be more or less of us than shown here.]

Hello!

As I hope I explained well through this comic, we've figured out we're system, and we're hoping this blog can help us figure ourselves out more, whatever the outcome may be. We're very new to all of this! If mistakes are made, please let us know!

With that out of the way, here are a few other things!

These aren't our real names, of course, just what we'll go by. Collectively, we call ourselves "Nest" or "The Nest", which is always a safe bet to use if you don't know who's out or if you're talking/refering to all of us. On this blog, we'll post little simplified comics and whatnot to keep track of everything we need to!

Generally it was just a feeling. We kept getting a nagging thought and considered writing in a notepad to see if we could remember doing it later, but we never got around to it until he did. From there we would just look back and, if our memory felt off, question our own identity.

We could tell if we were a different person based on how we felt about our gender, what we should look like, our age, our relationships with people, etc etc. But really it just boiled down to feeling a disconnect from one another, even with memory.

Sometimes it was harder than others, and our newest discovered member was only figured out last month, iirc. Some systems are still finding new alters years later.

As for diagnosis, it depends on who you ask. I personally don't care much, so long as research is done and whatnot. I won't come for anyone or demand an explanation as to why they feel they're a system. It's none of my business. If you turn out to be wrong, that's okay too. We personally intend to get a diagnosis as soon as we have the stability and resources to do so, but whether or not someone else intends to or can is none of our concern.

There also might be an 8th. We're trying to figure a few things out.

And all the dissociation and confusion and stuff but that's not as funny.

Now I know I wrote "people don't talk about the downsides", and that's not because I genuinely believe that. I've seen a lot of people discuss their struggles and what they deal with. I added that because I've seen people say it.

Just because we like to look at and present the silver lining doesn't mean that's all there is to it, and we're free to be content with ourselves despite those struggles.

But that doesn't mean they go away. And that sucks.

Happens a lot but what can you do?

On an unrelated note, I've been really wanting a burrito for weeks now.

It seems like everything we do and don't do is wrong.

This keeps happening.

Some things I can understand more than others, but I don't want them falling out of the habits we need to maintain.

Hey! Guess who started co-fronting partway through this comic? I think we're taking turns with the steering wheel. Cardinal's little comments and bits of dialogue were added because she wanted them there.

Anyway! Something about how we'd expected I'd be the host and how it seems like that's not actually the case. Really, I'm okay with any outcome as long as it gets less confusing.

Funny enough, I'm pretty sure I had more to say, but I drew the last frame and then either Cardinal or Sparrow switched in. I've been gone almost two weeks and they didn't want to finish this for me so it's probably shorter than I intended it to be.

I've got another one to make, though, so you might see me again soon.
