Your character meets somebody new on the bus. His or her opinion about the person is changed by the end of the bus trip. How did this change occur?
I am on the bus... about to head out on my search for by brother Yaro... My grandmother could not assist me any further than the bus stop, so I am alone for this journey.
Two girls enter the bus and they look very confused. I would later know them as Ann and Zandra. Perhaps they’ve never ridden a public bus before? Someone should probably tell them what to do, because they look very lost... and they are standing in the handicapped section. That’s not proper educate...Â
I’m not someone to step up and talk to strangers, so I will not be the one to tell them. I cannot help but stare at the situation though. People watching is something that interests me, since I won’t interact with them anyway.
Eventually the bus driver begins to yell at them: “You two gotta get goin’ to the back of this bus, unless you’re handicapped,”
“Oh that’s what these seats are for?” Zandra asks.
“Sorry about that, Mr. Busdriver! We didn’t know the rules... we’re just a bit lost and looking for some friends...” Ann replies.
“Well you’d best get going before I start driving, kiddos!” he screams back. The two of them scurry to the back of the bus, near where I am seated. The only empty seat seems to be the one next to me... But my bag is there and I enjoy the extra space. I hope they do not ask me to move it...
Before I can think anything else, Ann looks over in my direction. Please, I do not want any human interaction right now... “Excuse me, can we sit here?” she asks. I don’t know if she’s asking me to move because there are two of them, but I instinctively stand up out of my seat and begin to walk into the aisle.
“Y-yeah, go ahead...” I mutter, holding my book in my hands. Ann waves her hands at me. “Wait I didn’t mean for you to move! We can just share this seat or switch off who sits down,” she responds. It is too late now, I already stood up.
“I am fine... take the seat. I sit every time I am on this bus...” I admit. “You’re so nice, thank you! What’s your name? I’m Ann!” she excitedly smiles at me. I feel like this was a mistake now...
“I-I’m Arianna...” I reply. Zandra looks over at me and smirks. “And I’m Zandra,” she says.
“You said you use this bus often, Arianna? Are you from around here then? We’re looking for some friends and we’re not really sure where to start,” Ann begins to explain.
“Yes, I am doing the same...” I reply without realizing that would bring up another dreaded conversation.
“Your friends went missing too!?” Ann blurts out. I look around nervously, hoping others are not staring at us for making a scene.
“Just my brother... we were separated at a young age, so I am heading to his house...” I respond.
“Oh cool! And you’re traveling all alone?” Ann asks. The questions just keep on coming... and I do not want to be rude, so I keep responding.
“Y-yes, my grandmother could not make the journey. This is the first time I am traveling alone,” I admit.
“That sounds scary! We could come with you so that you don’t have to travel alone!” Ann suggests. What have I gotten myself into..?
“Oh, that may be too much trouble so...” I begin to speak, but she has made up her mind.
“Okay it’s settled, let’s travel together to look for all of our lost friends!” Ann places her hand on my shoulder.
“Ann are you sure about this? What about Amber and Murou?” Zandra asks.
“Who knows, maybe traveling around with Arianna will help us find them in the end!” Ann shouts.
“If you insist...” I whisper. I suppose she is a bit pushier than I would have originally expected from her confusion at the beginning of this ride. Perhaps she means well, but I do not do well in social situations... We shall see where this takes us.
