Entry #30:

Write a scene when your main character is being told off by one of their parents.

"You can’t go running off like that anymore, Mar,” Mommy is glaring at me sternly as she says this, “Your papa and I have been worried sick. You went up and disappeared for months and only checked in to say hi for a day?”

I look down, unsure what to say... I can’t really control how long I stay home anymore... I keep being taken against my own will.

“This is unacceptable. And we won’t have it anymore, okay?” she glares at me as she shouts this. This time Mommy’s actually waiting for an answer, I think.

“I... can try...” I mutter.

“You’re gonna have to do better than try! And I’ll be the one to make sure of it,” she grabs onto my hand and drags me into the little room. The dreaded location of the whole island... 

Our house is basically a castle floating on water, because of how many weird passage ways we have. But the little room is its own story. It’s a small room that you can only get to from the floor above. It’s a drop down into darkness. The door leading to the outside is gated off and too rusty to even open anymore. 

It’s in a very painful location. When you’re in there, you can look out and see the other kids playing and having fun in the front. But they can’t see you. No one can see you. You just have to sit and wait until the punishment is over.

Mommy drops me in there and shuts the top, leaving me trapped. I wonder how long she’ll make me suffer in here? And I actually didn’t even do anything wrong purposefully... it was those birds.
