Entry #20:

“Flowers came to my house every other Monday around 1 o'clock.”

I float over to the window to check on who it might be. After all, these flowers have been mysteriously appearing. I wasn’t sure who they were from, or why they were appearing at my front door. I peek through the window since it is indeed 1 o’clock, and the Monday that they should appear. This has been reoccurring for quite awhile now.

After waiting a few minutes, I notice Prince Grenna is at my doorstep. He sets flowers down, looking around as he does so.

I immediately open the window and wave out to Prince Grenna. “Prince Grenna, I appreciate the flowers... but what exactly is the reasoning?” I ask.

It is apparent that he was not expecting to see me. Perhaps he had not realized that I had figured out the schedule. He is very much caught by surprise.

“Oh, Squidwik! Um.. well...” he looks down a bit embarrassed as he speaks now. I did not mean to startle Prince Grenna like this, so I feel a bit bad about doing so.

“I apologize, Prince Grenna... if you do not wish to share, that is entirely fine by me,” I reply, trying to cover up my mistakes.

“No, it is fine. I just did not want to take the credit,” he begins, as he walks over to my window now. “These are flowers meant to cheer you up, Squidwik. I know it must have been rough after learning about what happened to your family...”

I do not want to trouble him, so I quickly wave my tentacles back and forth. “No, no, it is fine, Prince Grenna. I am doing well now, since it has been some time. I would like to thank you for your generousity though,” I remark in response.

“I hope that is true. Well, good luck, Squidwik. I will be at the castle if you need anything,” he replies. Prince Grenna hands me the flowers.

“Thank you very much, I truly appreciate it,” I respond, accepting the flowers.

I watch as Prince Grenna walks off back to the castle. He is so considerate... I am just a knight, and yet he is always so generous. I found out a few months ago that my entire race was annihilated by the Volzineons during the Sram War. I am the last one left, so it was a very jarring discovery. I am slowly recovering from the shock though, so I am doing better. 

Prince Grenna is so thoughtful.
