The CW has decided to symbolically throw Rothenberg under the bus, in order to try to get the @lgbtfansdeservebetter movement to back off.  If they aren’t firing him, they still aren’t doing anything.

Don’t let up.  They are afraid enough of you guys that they are asking fan favorite Ricky Whittle to talk them up, including Pedowitz BY NAME, in an effort to keep you from boycotting the network and so you will let up on the advertisers.  They’ll do the same thing with Lindsey Morgan on Thursday. Double down.  They are afraid.  Trend #BoycottTheCW during prime time on Thursday.  Make every trend about the CW Network.  Show the advertisers your power.  Demand that the network answer for the four lesbians killed via tropes in the span of a month.  Demand that the network answer for a shackled man of color shot in the head while on his knees facing an authority figure. Trend your demands to the network #FireJasonRothenburg #FireShawnaBenson #NoMoreTropes.  Call them out for what they have allowed #CWSupportsKillingMinorities #CWAllowedQueerbaiting

Use Twitter’s API to your advantage.  Use the Hashtags.  Only trend one hashtag per post.  Use one hashtag per night or event, make sure the words in each hashtag are different than the words used in the previous days trend or Twitter will disregard them and remove them from the trending topics.  Always include a link to the Trevor Project page or the http://lgbtviewersdeservebetter.com/ or http://wedeservedbetter.com/ web pages.  Include images with the proof of queerbaiting and racism, tweets with images get higher rankings that tweets without You want them to understand that you can do this every night until they acquiesce to your demands. 

The community is behind you, we may not be great at social media, but we are awesome at registering our opinions via how we choose to spend our money.  Comic shops that cater to the LGBT fans are refusing to order the Shawna Benson penned “Batgirl and the Birds of Prey” comic for her role in queerbaiting fans.  Your efforts to expose the queerbaiting are making that happen. 

Show the network and the advertisers how powerful you are with targeted trends.  If the network still refuses to acknowledge the movement and do something, start boycotting the CW Network advertisers.  Trend them by name “#BoycottTarget for supporting the mistreatment of minorities on the CW.”

1. We are boycotting. We’ve been boycotting since day one. We’ve been taking down sponsors, fighting, doing everything in our goddamn power to take this shitshow down. And we’re going to continue to do so. Because we realize that this show is fucked up in an endless amount of ways, and contrary to your sheltered beliefs, this is not and never has been just about Lexa.

2. Has it not occurred to you, at any point, that not all Clexa fans and supporters are white? HOLY SHIT IS THAT A SHOCKER OR WHAT? I know, take a seat if you need to. Are all of you sweaty slices of salami so busy deliberately blinding yourselves to the intentions of the movement–which is to empower minorities and have them be better represented in the media, and, you know, stop dying so much–that you missed it when Clexa fans stood up for Ricky? When Clexa fans stood up for Lincoln, and demanded to know why POCs kept dying and/or being demonized? Were you so busy being closet-homophobes that you missed it when Clexa fans tried desperately to trend POC FANS DESERVE BETTER along with LGBT FANS DESERVE BETTER, but the reason we couldn’t was because of Twitter’s system that prevents dual trending within single tweets (after which many still posted it and got the message out)? Did you miss it when Clexa fans stood up for Bob, and defended him countless times when people got out of control? Did you miss it when Clexa fans stood up for Bellamy, constantly wrote him as a friendly do-good-er in our fics (unlike you Blorgkes with Lexa), and questioned why the hell his character had regressed so much in Season 3? Did you miss it when, tonight, upon Lincolns death, Clexa fans banded together to discuss trending in Lincoln’s name, trending in the name of POCs everywhere? Apparently you did, because you’re all so busy choking on your own shit-crusted feet and being bitter about Clexa and your OTP to bother seeing the whole picture.

3. Clexa fans are mourning. We  loved–and still love–Lincoln. He was an incredible character, and too good for what happened to him. Ricky warned us so we all saw it coming, but it’s still devastating. Don’t pretend you’re the only ones that feel this loss, because you’re not. This is another unjust death, and we’ve been fighting Jason about it since day one.

How about you all get off your high horses? Join the movement. Fight for Ricky. Fight for Lincoln. And hell, you may have hated her for your own reasons, but fight for Lexa, too. They all represent minorities which have been killed and oppressed for far too long, far too often. They all represent something we need to collectively fight for. And letting your ship get in the way of good, real life change, reform, and unity, is frankly, just plain ridiculous.

Do NOT talk about bringing Lexa back, talk about getting JUSTICE for what they did to us. Talk about justice for ALL LGBT characters 3) Use one tag per TWEET. More than once and it’ll be counted as spam. 4) Add photos/links/videos. It gets more people to click and that helps boost the trend. 5) ADD PHOTOS OF YOU WITH YOUR MAYBELLINE PRODUCTS. Show sponsors that we support brands that stand for LGBT Equality.
