just feeling their body pressed against you, how warm they’d be. you can sense how at peace they are, their chest rhythmically rising and falling under the blankets. there's small amounts of air coming from their nose and parted lips, tickling your skin. they look so content, so utterly serene, you can't help but wonder what they're dreaming about.

The smile on your face when you can finally leave the house is what keeps them around.

Your laugh when the pain meds finally kick in is why they're with you.

The joy you radiate when you two decorate your mobility aids is why they can't leave your side.

And even when the bad outweighs the good, they adore you so terribly.

Never feel ashamed. Never feel like a burden. Never feel like you're too much. You are strong and you, above all else, are loved.

Imagine them scheduling your medicines- all organized for each ailment: coughs, sniffles, body pain, and chills. They alarm them at 4-6 hour intervals to keep track.

Imagine them helping you change your bedsheets and clothes when they begin to soak up sweat. They prepare a nice, icy sponge bath and wipe your body clean to cool you down.

Imagine them cooking for you and encouraging you to eat at least something. Sometimes being sick makes everything taste unappetizing or too strong, so they'll help find a balance that'll get you to at least fill your stomach with. They'll make sure you also get your fill of water and electrolyte drinks to keep you hydrated.

imagine ur f/o caring for your favorite plushie. giving it the most comfy space in your bed, tucking it in, picking it up when it fell off. imagine them gently washing it for u and restuffing it and sewing it when it needs fixing <3 and they treat it with as much love as you would and maybe they give it a smooch on the top of its head or something close to it when they're done caring for it
