When all the colors fade away

Bringing storm clouds come to stay,

And time is frozen ‘twixt night and day.

All I remember,

Somber Grey.

Fires scorch a trail of scars

Hatred chases love afar,

And morbid dreams leave you charred.

All I see,

Bitter Grey.

Marbled shade of black and white

Bleeds no darkness, nor the light

And leaves no victory for the fight.

All I know,

Dismal Grey.

A shoulder for the ladies’ tears

Closed coffins for heroic dears

Only one will remain here.

All I have,

Emily didn’t see him as something to run from he was just there a quiet friend who never pushed too hard

he would show up without warning lean in the doorway watch her write Death already knew the ending

they didn’t need big gestures just small talks half-sentences that somehow said everything

the town outside kept moving people doing what people do but Emily's world stayed in that room with Death

he wasn’t scary just steady cold air that always finds its way in

sometimes she wondered out loud what comes after this if it hurts or if it feels like ...rest

he never gave her a clear answer just stayed close a quiet love that was answer enough

so she kept writing about him in pieces and moments on scraps of paper hiding Death inside her lines

Everything yet nothing matters.

Faith is built upon man. The scriptures were written by them, even the loyalists believe so.

Scientific’s claim another possibility yet a lack of evidence has it facing the same hypocrisies.

They will claim the masculine urge, or the feminine tongue. They will preach that it’s the non binary infecting the youth… none of this is the cause of our stagnant mindset.

as the moon longs

for his nightsky

Seagulls call your name

wandering the far horizon,

drawing you back to me

By dreams reborn

By love transformed

We shine

like hands missing a name they can no longer hold.

Every tide is just a memory of your footsteps

that the shoreline can’t forget. The sky doesn’t paint sunsets anymore—

it bleeds them, as if dusk itself mourns

what it once saw in your eyes, and if you ever return

to where the gulls still wait, where the salt still knows your voice—

you’ll find the wind singing softer now,

like it never meant to let you go.
