He didn’t know what to make of Shen Shen. Behind her flirting there was a serious, skeptical mind at work, and he dreaded the day he legitimately wound up on her bad side.

She became a pirate before Bataar Jr. died, but she does (obviously) have a VERY strained relationship with Kuvira. Her family was devastated, but BeiFongs stick together, and they also know that the way Opal and her crew practices pirating isn’t what traditional pirates do - in other ways, they’re another crew that is “pirates with morales”
