Six Months Down, Six Months to Go

Tomorrow marks six months since everything went down, and I guess it's making me reflective. In my state, you have to wait a year to file for divorce after you Separate.

Six months down. Six months to go.

I've changed so much in these six months. I've refound my footing and my confidence. My parenting style is so different and far more relaxed. I'm not anxious and afraid all the time.

I'm getting better at taking care of myself—though I sometimes still need reminders... two decades of abuse don't just evaporate. And I'm finding time for the things I love, again.

To anyone struggling with getting out of a bad situation—I see you.

You are not alone, and you are loved more than you could ever imagine. Because if you think nobody loves you, please know that I love you.

If you can get out safely, please do. Trust me. Your life awaits on the other side.

It's so much better. So much better.

I can't wait to see how much better it'll be six months from now for me and my Littles.
