Rapunzel smiled encouragingly at her flustered table-mate, letting her catch her breath. âWhy would it be bad?â she asked, trying not to look at Kristoff again even though she could feel his eyes burning a hole into her back.Â
Her smile faded at the the thought of the Stabbingtons. âYeah⌠they pick on me, but it feels like more than just their usual antics, you know? They get more aggressive each day⌠but, no, no, you shouldnât jinx them,â she said worriedly. âThen youâd be on their list, too, and theyâre actually really dangerous. Itâs not a list you want to be on.â
Anna scoffed at Rapunzelâs explanation of the twin brothers. It seemed like the rumors sheâd heard were true: they really werenât boys anyone should mess with.
But still. A list? That was enough to make anyone laugh. Sure, Rapunzel was just paraphrasing, but it made the GRYFFINDOR smirk at the thought of such a list existing.
âIâm not afraid of them. Or any list they might have,â she said defiantly. âIâll be impressed if they can even hold a quill between the pair of them!â
Anna just couldnât imagine the trouble two students could really get into. âI mean think about it,â she pressed on in a whisper. âThereâs nothing to be afraid of, right? There are teachers everywhere. The worst they could do would be to jinx you - and even then you could be fixed right up in the HOSPITAL WING, right?â
Her eyes watched Rapunzel, hoping that it wasnât anything more than student bickering. âOrâŚ. Is it something more serious?â
Rapunzel laughed, charmed by her classmateâs confidence, but she sobered at the final question.Â
âI... listen, the more you know, the more problems youâll have with them. But Iâll just say that yes, it is more serious, and you should really avoid them as much as possible. I know I am.â
That avoidance was getting harder with her new-found... friendship? Lab partnership? Acquaintanceship? With their housemate Flynn, but she was determined to keep the two as seperate as she could.
âBut seriously, why dodge my question?â she teased, giving Anna a light poke on her shoulder. âWhy would it be bad if my quidditch teammate were looking at you? Do you guys have some kind of history?â She gestured idly to Kristoff, the Hufflepuff beater.Â
