Interestingly it was another system who had been diagnosed with OSDD who informed me about some of the issues/concerns at least a portion of the community (disordered or otherwise) of the ToSD; from what I recall, one of the main issues were that ToSD seemed to call for dissociative systems to eventually re-intergrate into a "singular person", which is a bit of an abelist treatment model. Some dissociative systems may find that that is a goal they want to achieve and lead to a less disordered life, and thats great for them, but I've also seen from disordered systems that embracing their plurality is just as healing for them. My fear is that a therapist/doctor who utilizes the ToSD may never question that their patient might benefit from embracing their systemhood, and only strive for the re-integration method prsented in the ToSD, which just might not be the best thing for a patient to live a healthy life.

However I do feel it bares mentioning that I also found a lot of my initial understanding of plurality within the ToSD, especially on did-research.org. Secondary Structural Dissociation was what my therapist had called it, it was what i then read about and went "damn yea that sounds like me" lol. Of course then I wanted to talk to others who experienced SSD, and that's when i had received some information from other disordered systems about some of the criticism with ToSD.

I was given a few different resources about why that is, and while I've only sunk my teeth in a bit about these, I just wanted to share in case you were curious to read them for yourself and come to your own conclusions:

Anywho, all that to say I can personally agree that there's value to be found in the ToSD model, however I do think the criticism that some systems, especially disordered systems, have with the ToSD does come from a place of good faith.

And genuinely thank you for the ask anon! If you and others with DID/OSDD/DDNOS/etc have found the ToSD to be helpful to you in at least some way I'm glad to hear it. Really whatever helps you live a happy and healthier life is all that really matters. I only dislike when medical practices that claim to be beneficial to disordered systems can end up being used to hurt some of us or cause further trauma, which seems to sometimes happen sadly :(

Apologies for letting this sit in my inbox for a minute anon, Initially i started writing something up but felt like i needed to better understand some aspects about plurality/systemhood before talking about it here.

I'm still learning a lot since my own discovery as a system (aka 'syscovery', hilarious and accurate term thank you plural community), but generally feel more confident about discussing it at least a baseline level. Really i just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to say anything that was wildly inaccurate.

Which, if you're reading this and have never heard of or only know very little about systems, here's some quick info for ya:

Systems are mostly known in wider culture in the context of Dissociative Identity Disorder, however you do not need to have DID (or any dissociative disorder) to be a System/Plural.

Experiencing trauma is also not necessary to be a System. Some systems feel they were born this way, or that becoming a system was developed through other origins (like tulpamancy, for example).

A small 'dictionary' if you're confused or wish to know more about some of the language/words used in the community

If you research further about Systems/Plurality/Multiplicity, especially if it is mental health related, you may find readings about the Theory of Structural Dissociation (ToSD). From what I understand, this theory is widely disliked and criticized by the community. Here's an article on why that is.

Generally recommend the website/org power to the plurals for further reading/resources on plurality. I've also found r/plural to be very informative just to read about other system experiences directly- really, if you've meant one System, you've only meant one System. Everyone's experiences can be quite different from one another. Like with most things, plural people do not all fall into one neat little box.

ANYWAY. sorry for the PSA stuff on a silly little wizrd101 headcanon post but plurality is quite stigmatized, even within mental health spaces, so I wanted to provide some extended info especially if anyone reading this doesn't know or understand much about plurality/systems.

OK. System!Morganthe... so if you've been following for awhile I've talked many different times about Morganthe's Memories/Dreams- like, not just the quests. But the actual distinct Morganthe's that we see in each dream. They are all visually different, each one sporting a different colored outfit. Blue in Avalon, Purple in Wizard City, and Grey in Khrysalis.

Later on, when we go to face Morganthe in the Shadow Palace and she summons multiple versions of herself, three of them are dawn in the same! colors! as her memories have! Which is just like! okay writers i see you and your subtle visual storytelling, what are you trying to say here? So here are my thoughts:

Throughout Arc 3, we understand that Spider's sons were basically created from his own Nightmares/Dreams. Also true for Raven with Mellori (though i think she specifically is Raven's Love/heart? Same concept though)

When you understand the above, I think what's being implied with Morganthe during the end of Arc 2 is that she was able to take her memories and "split" them off into like, tangible, summon-able entities (or, that this was done to her, but uh thats discussion for another time i think lol). Though, unlike how Bat and the other sons can walk around and exist physically within the Spiral, Morganthe's Memories are housed within one body/mind, if that makes sense.

This is really, really interesting when you look at it through the lens of plurality because (at least within dissociative systems, im not sure about non-dissociative systems) there's this concept of an alter or a headmate "holding" memories or aspects about an event that the mind may not be able to comprehend for one reason or another, so it like. "Stores" memories, feelings, etc away into that other "part" so it can um. well. Survive.

Which is also just fascinating to think about in terms of Spider and Raven honestly, but with Morganthe, her Memories, like the distinct entities that they are depicted as, are HER. It's not Rat Scorpion and Bat, it's not Raven-child Mellori. They are still Morganthe. The Morganthes, if you will.

And, if I may get a bit personal here, that is very similar to my own experience as a System. Most of my headmates are kind of like... off-shoots of myself? If you've followed me on my main blog before knowing i was a system, you've definitely seen me make posts about how it feels like there's 8 of me in my head or something lol. We vary in age, vary in our personalities, we all have out own distinct thoughts and opinions, but visually in our head we all kind of Look The Same. The.... Okis..... if you will.....

(I do also have some headmates that are very much not part of The Okis, but I won't expand on that here for personal reasons lol).

So, that's the foundational idea behind System!Morganthe- I could probably elaborate more, but I think I may save a lot of the lore-related details in light of my comic project im working on :'D

However, I am absolutely going to talk more more about each of Morganthe's Memories (headmates) individually becausee,,,,,, i lvoe them,,,,

Morganthe "Proper":

You know her you love her. The "Main Host" of Morganthe's system.

(mostly) has access to all memories/life events within the system.

When full fronting, recognized through both eyes being standard emerald green. Co-fronting may be indicated by other colors in the eyes (keep reading lol).

Epitome of "Sinnamon Roll"

is that one drawing meme/image of having her headmates tethered to toddler leashes and looking so over the chaos she's surrounded by

Could be everything and more if KI let me in the writers room

Blue:

The youngest, visually representative of her Avalon Memory segment in the game.

Pretty happy-go lucky kid on the surface, always curious about the world and others, sort of like a toddler who asks "why?" about everything (which often annoys one of the other headmates, Violet).

Related to the element of Ice, she is absolutely a trauma holder/'guard' of sorts for the traumatic events of Malory's Betrayal/Death/etc. Will only allow 'access' to these memories/events if it benefits the system as a whole (god... my comic... my brain is huge i tell you)

Can be aware of memories/events that she has "not experienced", but holds little to no emotional connection to them. same energy as a five year old telling you very frankly their parents are getting divorced.

When summoned into the world proper by the Host, she shares some visual similarities to that of a shadow sentinel.

Fronting/co-fronting can be recognized by a deep blue color in the eyes.

Violet:

Representative of Morganthe's memory segment in Wizard City, spills into post-panishment a bit as well.

So teenager most teenager ever to teenage teenager

Way more anxious than what we see with Blue, much more on the offense about their sense of self and sense of the world. Very "electric" energy, being related to the element of Storm. Lots of uncertainty and worry.

Sort of this slightly older sister figure to Blue (they're the headmates the talk the most to one another), though in the way where one will often ridicule their younger sibling for being too kiddish or gullible etc etc. The "critical voice" of morganthe's system, mostly.

Has rare moments of not being the most teenager to ever teenager and can be quite rational and problem solving and creative when she's not busy being on edge about Everything.

Knows of most memories/events from her childhood in Avalon, but absolutely nothing that involved Malory. Same for all other headmates.

When summoned into the world proper by the Host, she shares some visual similarities to that of a shadow shrike.

Fronting/co-fronting can be recognized by a warm hued purple color in the eyes.

Grey:

(Mostly) Representative of Morganthe's memory segment in Khrysalis.

Rarely if ever verbalizes herself like that blue/violet may in morganthe's system. Communicates more through her own presence than words. Appears emotionally disconnected, or perhaps she's just overly focused. Watching. Waiting. On the edge of a knife.

Related to the element of death.

When summoned into the world proper by the Host, she shares some visual similarities to that of a shadow seraph, tho wields a scythe instead of a staff.

Fronting/co-fronting can be recognized by a medium toned gray color in the eyes.

Scarlet:

ok so its at this point im going to bring up that Morganthe had four entities she summoned at the end of Khrysalis, despite us only seeing three of them in her dream sequences. The very abridged explanation of that fourth "void" entity is that that was her memories of Shadow Queen sort of "forming", or in a sort of limbo state sort of thing.
