#not the best use of ‘infamous’ methinks

I feel it works in the sense that Republicans regularly harass them for their politics and lose their shit everytime the CEO says something revolutionary like ‘we believe in basic human rights,’ so they very much are infamous in certain parts of the Internet. Maybe just not Tumblr 😅

Also the offer doesnt apply to saffron, vanilla extract or giftcards but it does apply to the gift boxes, so if anyone is struggling for winter gifts, I can heartily recommend their baking and hot chocolate kits.

Yeah I think "infamous" is fair. The first time I bought something at one of their physical stores, the cashier told me I could sign up for the newsletter to learn about deals and discount codes, but very earnestly warned me that the owner sometimes used it to share his political opinions.

Honestly, it's worth it for his emails alone.

He gets very angry but in a very “loves humanity with his entire being and is very pissed off people are using their time on this earth to be cruel” kind of way that feels very comforting in a world where brands have co-opted therapy speak into their corpo-speak to mind-numbingly insincere effect.

Sometimes it's just nice to open an email that says “boy howdy things sure are fucked. Here’s why you shouldn't walk into traffic this week. Also here, have some spices for $10.”
