Want to get out of Bangkok and enjoy a short break from the noise and crowd?

Only 15 minutes away from Udom Suk BTS station (E12) by taxi (~THB 150) is the Taco Lake Wake Park. A wonderful place to learn how to wake board and enjoy the sun, only 45 minutes away from the busy city center.

The place opens daily, prices are great and you even have a small restaurant cooking delicious Thai food. 

Water is nice and warm, so don't be afraid to fall... it's part of the fun.

Just remembered that a few weeks ago, an article came out in a Swiss journal saying that Bangkok should become the n°1 touristic destination in the world in 2013. MasterCard published a Global Destination Cities Index for 2013 saying that Bangkok should reach 15.98 million international visitors, beating London by only 20'000 international visitors.

Short video clip on Bangkok's cultural sites. This city has so much to offer, especially if you like Asian food. You can find food stalls every few meter when the night is falling, the ingredients are fresh, the food is just amazing and you only have to pay a couple of Bahts for a noodle soup with vegetables and meat.

Had a talk yesterday with one of my uncle's relatives about Bangkok and how great the movie theater in Siam Paragon was. Every time I go to Thailand, I go at least once to watch a movie at the Paragon Cineplex. It is a great experience!! The seats are the coziest I've ever tried, the sound system is just amazing and the screen... wow! And the best thing is that the prices are so much lower than what I pay in my hometown of Neuchatel (Switzerland). I can only recommend to everyone visiting Bangkok to take a two hour break and go watch a movie there, you won't regret it.

Did a little bit of research for some nice places to hang out after work for a drink and found out that the SkyBar, the world's highest open air bar, was just a few blocks away from my apartment. Saw this place for the first time on some friend's pictures and said Wow... how could I have missed such a place! I have spent 4 weeks in Bangkok and never once heard of that place. Next time I will definitely go for a drink and enjoy the view and sunset.

Couldn't resist not knowing where my place would be in Bangkok, so I did some research this morning and found the BTS/Skytrain station closest to my "hotel" (I couldn't find the exact place, but I'll keep looking). It's the Surasak station in the Silom district. It's only 4 BTS stations away from my working place and around 4km on foot.

Nice German saying which says “You always meet twice in Life”. Heard this one from a German guy I met on Koh Tao in 2011 when I was doing my PADI DiveMaster with Buddha View Dive Resort.

The world is shrinking and I really think that people you met on one of your trips do not just disappear when you leave them. You will meet them again whether you want it or not!

Just got a mail from the company this morning where they gave me the name of the place I would be staying in; it's the Purita Serviced Apartments. I could not really locate it on a map, but at least it looks really nice. The rooms are quite big, with a fridge, TV, a nice bed and a small living room area in the room. But I think the place I will enjoy the most is the terrace on the top floor of the building. You have a really nice view of Bangkok and the skyscrapers. The place looks really chilled and I already know I'm going to enjoy it there!
