The day begins with a pounding headache and the driest mouth she's had in years. Peeling her eyelids open feels like a chore, but Zu'elah manages to do so after a few tries. Ka'ra, when was the last time she'd felt this horrible after a night of drinking? Not only that - when was the last time she could barely remember? Whatever that bottle Casimir got was incredibly strong. Casimir. The woman freezes, eyes going wide as she looks around her quarters aboard her ship.

He's nowhere to be seen. Thank Ka'ra.

Then, the night comes back in glimpses, small moments of the two of them talking, sharing cultures, fleeting touches, not explorative or invasive, but comforting and warm, her words. Mhi solus tome, mhi solus dar'tome, mhi me'dinui an, mhi ba'juri verde. Then he repeats.

Zu'elah's stomach drops as she scrambles out of her bed and stumbles a bit over the blankets. Catching herself just barely, she bolts through her ship, looking in the bunks. Her footsteps squeak against the floor, her body coming to a stop abruptly as she arrives in the doorway. Casimir is there on the bunk, and his eyes snap open the moment she arrives. Osik.

⸻ ⛧ 𝘏𝘈𝘓𝘍 𝘈𝘚𝘓𝘌𝘌𝘗 𝘖𝘕 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘉𝘜𝘕𝘒, he startled awake at the patter of quick steps through the corridor. Casimir hadn't meant to fall asleep again, but his head was simply pounding when he woke up. Not wanting to bother Zu'elah at his side, he had quietly left to fetch water & maybe find where his clothes had gone. A kettle was put on to make a remedy & he searched his bags that had been left elsewhere to find the tin of tea, pull on something warmer to wear. But the bunk had simply been too inviting.

Zu'elah stood in the threshold looking a bit disheveled & confused. Though he now realizes where his other shirt had gone since she was wearing it. Slowly, he pulls himself up only remembering that he had left water to boil in the kitchen & having no idea how long he fell asleep. Thank the Ancestors there was no fire. ❝ Yeah I... started some water for tea but I think I forgot about it, ❞ he answers, rubbing at his face. Unfortunately, he had been so hungover he had forgot to leave water by her bed or anything else. ( though this was not the only thing he had forgotten either, but it was common for him to forget a night or two. what a shame it had been with her )

❝ What's wrong? ❞ he asks, grabbing the tin of tea left on top of his bag before meeting her at the door. ❝ Well, besides the hangover. I didn't mean to leave you, sorry. I was going to make us tea but my head is kriffing killing me. ❞ Which, now that he thinks on it more he feels rather guilty for. Had that been why she was running? Disappointed that he had left her side? Though she hadn't struck him as the type. ❝ You look cute in that though, are you going to keep it? ❞

Nythra’s entryways, known as the Veilways, are unstable hyperspace passages that serve as the only routes into the star system of Nythra These entrances shift with somewhat predictable yet complex celestial cycles, often opening and collapsing due to gravitational currents, and other phenomena ebbing and flowing throughout the region that is usually more easily navigable by those Force-attuned. Some sets of coordinates are only valid for a limited season for Yidi Clan explorers (or Scouts) before the passage disappears and another emerging elsewhere. For outsiders, the surrounding expanse is really just another treacherous region of Wild Space where traditional navigation fails and most vessels vanish. Yet for Nythrans, these changing pathways are similar to the currents of their seas, the patterns understood through generations of observation and instinct. Precise calculations are possible, though experienced navigators would likely describe venturing through the Veilways as something that must be *felt* rather than charted.

HOPPING INTO THE COCKPIT OF AN X-WING is enough to keep the blood pumping, convince a pilot that as long as they soar through space, through the atmosphere they are invincible.  he was a rookie one, far too green to understand that revenge is not a potent enough reason to keep one's ship afloat, a state of mind that could only result in an explosive fall, wings falling apart before they could hope to reach the nearest star.

his own squad felt like a ragtag group of misfits at times, the best in the galaxy yet so full of quirks.  perhaps it was a miracle that they were able to accomplish anything at all.  but ultimately their synergy, even with chaos wrapped up in some plans, won out proved that they were as good as they said they were.  sure, he might have told wes to reel himself in from time to time, or deliberately ensured that hobbie would not once again create a crash landing,  &  continued to stand by his own best friend, tycho, facing accusations he did not deserve, but he would not have it any other way.  &  to this day, he would welcome any other pilot that may be a little too much to handle.

dressed in regalia, the man who cannot let go of a control stick feels stuffy.  this is far from how he would like to present himself but wedge is no stranger to playing dress up, both in the form of formal events  &  operations involving disguises.  besides, no one would want to see him dress in his preferred style, it is a bit ...  bizarre.

wedge grips his flute tighter, brings the rim of the glass up to his lips so he may taste the beverage randomly handed to him a moment before running into casimir.  easing his nerves ?  he makes a quick nod to the side, offering a hint of a smile.          ❝  kas tulisha abia al port, as they say on corellia.  someone has to keep the evil in the galaxy at bay no matter how precarious the situation ends up being. even the operations unknown to the public really go up in sparks.  quite the show.  ❞          he makes himself chuckle.          ❝  i'll be sure to forward you a holo-message next time.  ❞

⸻ ⛧ 𝘊𝘈𝘚𝘐𝘔𝘐𝘙 𝘏𝘈𝘚 𝘊𝘖𝘔𝘌 𝘛𝘖 𝘓𝘌𝘈𝘙𝘕 that he prefers to talk with almost anyone else other than senators. Despite the fact that he was one now, which was something Casimir was still wrapping his mind around. Some of them couldn't get over the arrest that led him here for several reasons. He was tired of saying the same story again & again. In this case, the conversation was somewhat more normal. If he could consider it as such. Casimir had merely watched the war end from afar. The disbanding of the Empire turning into a Republic, but in his opinion not much had changed but the words. & certainly not the arrests.

❝ You are still hunting down remnants aren't you? ❞ he asks, some of his new knowledge as a senator coming to mind. Though he has been struggling to understand the politics of it all, Casimir knew that there were still issues regarding certain pockets of Imperial activity that would result in pilots like this man still needing to risk their lives. ❝ I haven't yet decided if engaging in dogfights would feel more engaging than these political ones. I was neither made for war or politics. ❞

Yet it would seem that Fate has forced his hand, as well as a number of his own mistakes in turn. The Ancestors always had a funny way of going about things. But Casimir wasn't laughing, he was trapped in a game he didn't know how to play. Which is why he had already finished his third drink & stared at the other man's with a little envy hoping for an attendant to return so he could grab a fourth.

❝ How much longer do you think all this will go on? The "evil in the galaxy" sort of thing? ❞

‎‎˖ ˚ ✦ ▌ 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗘 & 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗠 𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗡 & with Liana being bound to the planet the way that she was , if any modicum of that peace was disrupted , she could feel it — usually through a tingling in her head , much like the soft fluttering of the wings of her moon moths. She had been caretaking an ill tree , delivering her essence unto the roots. Everything on her planet was a cycle & she , the primary source for all of the life it breathed. It was her duty ... her purpose to tend to the sick life on her planet. But it was also her duty to protect it. So when she felt his presence , this outsider , her attention was immediately pulled. He wasn't far , she could feel it & though her foot falls were near - silent , the rhythmic pounding of her heart was as drum beat , loud & overwhelming her senses. It wasn't that she was frightened , or even nervous for that matter — but thrilled. For it was not so often that she got visitors in The Garden.

She wasn't the only one excited either. Her moths fluttered around her & only she could hear their tittered whispers of a newcomer , an outsider , a visitor. That was a good sign — if the moon moths trusted this trespasser , then perhaps she would have no need to protect the planet after all ( she had hoped that was going to be the case , considering what she'd done to the last person who wasn't friendly ). Silently , Liana made her way down by stream , hidden behind a tree until he was close enough for her to see him.

Peeking around , a hint of a smile curving lips upward , the angel quirked her head , finally stepping out from behind the tree when Casimir was in sight. She wasn't sudden , she didn't want to frighten him away , but calm , her gentle energy rolling off of her & spreading out around her — even the plants & flora seemed to reach to feel her warmth.

" I do not get many visitors here, traveler. Please, regale to me your purpose here? Are you friendly, or are you not? "

⸻ ⛧ 𝘏𝘌 𝘚𝘌𝘕𝘚𝘌𝘚 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘗𝘙𝘌𝘚𝘌𝘕𝘊𝘌 𝘉𝘌𝘍𝘖𝘙𝘌 he sees her. Though it was not familiar ( like the Inheritance ) the essence of it eluded to something else. Something grander than the form it fit in.

At the sounds of a gentle voice, he turns his head to see a woman. She doesn't startle him, but she does cause him to pause. There are several conclusions he could try to make, though he does not believe to be informed enough for them to be accurate. Yet he sees the tiny flying creatures, feels her presence more than most in the greater galaxy, & the way the planet felt under his feet giving way that he might not be here to find a good crystal to sell. ( though that was his meager hope )

❝ I like to think myself as friendly. Especially when I've had a few drinks, ❞ he answers, hoping that his casual response was enough to pair with his honesty. Casimir gives her a shrug & takes a cautious step closer. Just because she hadn't startled him, does not mean he intends to frighten her either. ❝ I often visit new places. Especially ones with... something interesting to enjoy. ❞ Though he means the rare & extremely regulated crystals he often sells in hidden places, he can't help but let his eyes trail over her. She was, after all, very easy on the eyes.

It doesn't mean he couldn't be more clear, however, ❝ New scenery. A comfortable place to camp, maybe some rich caverns to explore. ❞ Gesturing towards the stream, the water seemed rather clear & clean. Though the sun was not too warm, he couldn't help but want to at least wade through it. ❝ Maybe go for a swim. I've been in the city too long. There is nothing like communing with nature. Though I hope I'm not disturbing you, have I landed too close to your... property? ❞

Despite the strangeness of everything, he would start with pleasantries. Ensure that he was not imposing, neither had he any nefarious plans. Unless, of course, building a small campsite was considered nefarious.
