EVER SINCE THE ADVENT OF FOMO, the more ambitious of people tried to seek their fifteen minutes of fame, which in hindsight, was ample opportunity for morons to capitalize on the opportunity to ELEVATE their own trust value. everyone wanted to be the next e-soul, the next dj shindig, anything to make a name for themselves. to be remembered.
hastily shoving a plain black hoodie over his suit &. a facemask, âââââ shoved his briefcase underneath a table, ducking out of side &. avoiding the panicking crowd. beyond the fingerprint-smeared glass windows, two individuals are loudly heckling each other, attempting to goad the other into action before crashing together in a brutal show of fists.
from the sparks of light &. shrill screams, it was clear that this was nothing more than a spectacle - one that could prove to be deadly. pushing his way out of the diner, past the few straggling gawkers with their phones out, âââââ crouches behind an advertisement, peering around with a note of disapproval.
true to his predictions, one of the combatants gets knocked against a wall with such violence that they get knocked out, leaving behind this menace unopposed.
stepping from the shadows, emboldened by a power that he can't yet put his name to, he stands before this hulking man - already pounding his fist &. jeering.
â lookin' t'get yer just desserts, eh??? think all you pretty boys can get away wit doing what you want? â
as âââââ raises his hand, palm outstretched, he focuses on the feeling that he had when peering at himself in the mirror before a kaleidoscope of colours erupted around his head. maybe ... just maybe...
of course, that same exhilaration does not come, failing him when needed most. with frustration, âââââ stares at his hands, shaking them frantically like he would jar his powers awake because he knows he had them.
in his dismay, he fails to focus on the man already rearing a fist back, ready to smear him against the walls ...
