with the increase of twilight discourse outside of twilight tumblr i have seen a lot of bad takes and now i know i can never leave this hellsite to talk about this dumb ass franchise 😩

Okay so I don’t care for Edward and Bella but I don’t mind them being together just because I don’t care much for their characters just as long as they leave the wolf pack alone that’s fine.

However, I’ve never really thought either Jacob or Edward felt pure and real love for Bella.

Edward is quite controlling and possessive over Bella I mean his first attraction to her was her blood and he never listened to her he always made decisions FOR her. The only time their relationship seems happy is when Bella is a vampire it’s as if Edward thought she couldn’t decide things for herself as a ‘weak’ human.

And for Jacob I don’t think he was in love with Bella, now don’t get me wrong I LOVE their friendship, to me it’s as if he confused a crush/slight obsession with love. He’s young he’s probably never been in love before it could easily be confused as just the first love interest her had because to me his actions weren’t out of love but out of jealousy and I don’t think Jacob ever really thought about if he and Bella were actually together, to me it sounds like a very odd pairing of very different personalities that don’t mesh.

Is it bad I don't like Jacob

You can dislike whoever you want but it’s important to consider why you dislike them.

I hated Jacob for years because of how much of a dick he became but I really really loved him pre transformation. But now I’m like that’s just crap writing what she did to Jacob so I just ignore all of the horrible stuff he was written to do as poor plot devices to drive the main love story and make Edward look like the better choice. And you also have to consider the racist aspects of the entire creation of the tribe in these books and how they’re painted very bad compared to the Cullens. But no I totally don’t like how Jacob acts after he becomes a wolf but I’ve considered all the aspects of why he’s written like that and it allowed me to love him.

But sometimes it’s not that complex. Sometimes you just don’t like a character because they don’t interest you. I don’t care for Esme. I find her boring and I forget she exists.

Honestly the only Cullen I like in Twilight is Emmett because he's the only one that's honest about his nature and actions.

He doesn't give a shit about preserving human life. He's literally only vegetarian because he's supporting Rosalie. He goes out of his way to not kill humans on a daily basis but at the times when he did kill someone, he was just like, "Well I am a vampire so.... *shrugs*" He doesn't sit on a moral high horse and claim he's one of the good guys. He is an unapologetic vampire and he owns it.

He's here for a good time and a long time. Can't fault him for that!

4. Rachel green- She is adorable obviously but also her development is underrated, friends is a huge comfort show of mine and Rachel is my fave :))

3. Jacob black- my bb deserved better. I’ve loved twilight since it came out and he’s always been my fave and he should’ve gotten a better ending

2. Daryl Dixon- he may seem a lil musty at first but he’s still my all time fave from the walking dead. His character development is the best I’ve ever seen in any tv show. Plus, his and carols friendship >>>

Okay so the volturi are painted as the bad guys right BUT if the vision in breaking dawn actually happened then what would happen to the vampire world without rules? What if vampires weren’t afraid to show themselves and just did whatever they want? Would the wolves be able to save humanity? Would vampires just take over everything? or would the Cullens have took the volturi’s place as leaders? Because if so they’d have to be just as strict and lethal as the volturi were to keep order which I don’t think they’re capable of. So as horrible as the volturi were, didn’t they keep the human world separate from the supernatural?

How I feel about this character: I love Jacob tho I don’t agree with a lot of his decisions I think his character has a lot more depth than what smeyer wrote for his character and he really is just a sweet care free person who’s life got turned upside down many times.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: 💛happiness💛 no but fr I don’t ship him with any canon characters in the saga, I wish he’d just met someone human who made him happy again.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: If I had to choose a canon character I’d say Angela even though they never got to meet I’ve seen a lot of fancanons of them and I can see it working tbh!

My non-romantic OTP for this character: same as for Jacob their friendship was really nice to see in breaking dawn.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I just think she’s so underrated she’s been through so much and never gets any credit I mean who can blame her for being angry after the way the world has treated her.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish she’d gotten her happy ending, she deserved it the most out of every character. I also wish the pack had been nicer to her after knowing what she’s been through and feeling her pain of losing her dad, Sam and turning into a wolf in such a short space of time.

every day i think about how rosalie hale was so powerful and so controlled that as a newborn she murdered her rapists and managed not to drink their blood. jasper could never. bella looked like she struggled more with that mountain climber dude than rosalie did in her flashbacks. and EDWARD could ABSOLUTELY NEVER. so he should keep his bitch ass mouth CLOSED when referring to rosalie bc she has more power and control and influence in her pinky finger than he does in his whole body. god bless.
