The taste of whiskey.

Chemistry, passion, and desire Loki hadn’t really experienced before… (or had he?)

Loki entered the bar for the usual: losing himself among strangers had always been his greatest escape from life—from himself.

It was supposed to be another one night stand. Meaningless. Until Loki laid eyes on him.

It was ridiculously cinematic, really…

…how everything else faded around him;

…how his heartbeat halted for a moment, and then his pulse picked up and started racing through his veins;

…how a voice in his head went: “That’s him!”

Like a magnetic pull—recognition.

The encounter may have been brief, but it sparked something within Loki—the emptiness in his soul felt even deeper and colder. Sharp and aching.

Loki secretly hoped to run into the stranger again—anywhere, anytime. He had no idea who he was. He didn’t know his name. Loki only knew one thing: when their skin touched, it lit a flame inside his chest. It was like every cell in his body was burning, longing, wishing… calling out like a bird hopelessly singing for his missing other half, and waiting for an answer…

They never crossed paths again.

Additional note:

this was fun(ny) to write, because 

1) I never go to bars

2) never had a one night stand

The irony?

The ex-husband was a truck driver.

He died in a car crash.
