Loki stands as one of Marvel's finest projects after Avengers: Endgame because it understands that spectacle alone is no longer enough.
Polarizing Loki Series Takes Part 2
Part 1 is here
Sylvie was never "Abusive" to Loki. This is someone she met a few days? Weeks? ago. She's not going to abandon her mission. It's like asking Loki to give up any ambition for the throne of Asgard for someone he just met. Also, a lot of the pain she causes Loki, like the time-slipping, she had no way of knowing would happen. She didn't know her pushing him through the time door would cause him to time-slip. The next time she sees him, he's wearing the TVA uniform and seemingly working of his own volition with the organization that destroyed her life. Of course she'd be wary and feel betrayed by him.
I think post S1-finale, there are a lot of hurt feelings between Loki and Sylvie, and I can see why Loki was quite shit at communicating with her. First, Loki hasn't had a moment of peace since he discovered he's a Jotun. Loki was being torn apart by the universe some days ago!!! Let him be a bit stupid. He's not going to be on his A-game. Second, the last interaction between them, can be seen as a betrayal, and it did cause him A LOT of physical pain (time-slipping). Third, Loki is not the most well-adjusted, specially after all that. His most consistent trait is that he doesn't like showing weakness, and we see that when he's time-slipping. This happened after he made himself vulnerable, which doesn't come easy for him. So, I can see him closing up afterwards...
I fault a lot of it too on poor male-centric writing. There's some"my bitch ex" vibes there... It does feel like despite the narrative proving her right, it also tends to want to make Sylvie look bad through the unfortunate consequences she had no way of knowing.
I don't think it was good, but it could have been so good and it had a lot of potential. The missed potential is a huge point of interest for me.
Basically Loki and Sylvie are very unfortunate and have over-the-top bizarre consequences they had absolutely no way of predicting... like this Key & Peele skit...
God, the colouring/cinematography/direction of loki season 2 is just beautiful, isnβt it?
Rare picture of Sylvie being happy!

Looked up her on twitter again and found some behind the scenes photos from season two...Sophia's so locked in here. I'm sorry for my egregious use of emojis, but she is so locked in that that's not Sophia, it's Sylvie π₯π π₯΅π₯ (I can't stop looking at her hand ππ)
