Rambles:

I remember seeing this animation meme and thinking, morgan deserves a few more kills, so I kinda made this is a fugue state lmao. IM SO CONFUSED HOW I MANAGED TWEENING SO WELL (first time! :D)

I have such a fun time mimicking the OTD style~ including the cut ins! I drew everything in this video except for the backgrounds used for the beginning parts (they’re the 3D backgrounds from the game) obviously everything heavily references assets from the game.

I sat in the blueblood hangout area in the beginning of the game for so long trying to scan for the positions of important things. I may have forgotten the bat and not draw most of the trash but I did keep my favorite detail from the scene, the line of Miller’s blood from when Morgan dragged the sword across the floor

I have such a damn good time mimicking OTD’s and Bug’s artstyle. Somehow it feels very geared to my art style (which is non-existent cuz I switch up my rendering so damn much) but much more freer than I usually feel when I draw. It’s something about the lineart and the blocky shading GUh so fun. A lot of these character art assets are essentially redraws but thought I’d share nonetheless.

These first three shots are essentially redraws of the Morgan sprites “Morg heh LowerWards”, “Morg flippant”, and “ThoughtMorg blank” but at a more front-facing angle. The sprite names are taken from the fanwiki. The backgrounds of the first two images are screenshots of the Blueblood Pod building from the beginning of episode 2 and the intro cg of episode 0 respectively. For the first one I had to merge two different screenshots cuz there was no screenshot I could pull from the game that didn’t have character art in it~ the bg of the 3rd image was to mimic the original video for the meme as well as the bg of the character art cut-ins from the game!

For the young Morgan drawings, the wet cat Morgan drawing was essentially a redraw of “Cg 02 crush 05”. For the first one, I used the 2nd as a base since there is no front-facing young Morgan sprite I don’t think. I also made it purple to mimic those sections in episode 2! Other than the fact I forgot to use a more sketchy brush for the lineart, I think I did a good job of mimicking the rendering of those sections!

Now I remember seeing someone mentioning this part as a tweening *edit*, and it is! But I redrew the og sprites myself! So here’s the base sprite redraw that I did for this bit. Considering this is the first real time I’ve ever done a tweening animation, I think I did good! :D

Here are the screenshots with the lighting and compositing I did. The gun was so fun to draw you have no idea (to the despair of my friends). Checkov’s way more complicated rendering compared to the character art to highlight the relevance of a prop gun~. I know it’s prolly cuz the gun in that shot from the game is a 3d model with some 2d rendering over it spiderverse style (I think?) but still~ The BG was also a screenshot from the game. As for the lighting, I kept the lighting from the shot of Morgan sitting of the desk for the start and when the gun pops up I changed the lighting/solors to mimic the Morgan *heavy bass blaring* cut-ins. REALLY happy with how this shot turned out!!!!

Now I’m at my image limit but as for the Creek and Morgan cut-ins I tried to keep how they pop in accurate to the game! The frame expanding out and the moving bgs~ Morgan was essentially a redraw of the sitting on the desk cg (specifically “Cg 02 mask 2”), I needed the Creek cut-in to be from a higher angle to make it feel like Morgan was looking down on them. Her hand is way higher up from their actual wound but I need his hand and the blood to be more visible. I had a REALLY FUN time drawing creek man.
