I am making my first ever croissants and i think i am gonna live blog
A catastrophic incident with incorporating butter. Managed to save it just in time before i could have gone further and ruined it even more which is something i am very prone to usually. Resting the dough again and trying in another hour
Managed to placed the butter well but messed up the 3-lock in and it's warm here so i have been running back and forth from kitchen to fridge. Still hoping something good comes out of this
The 3 lock in done..the butter started melting right when i was gonna roll that so kept in fridge
Day 3: the final day
(I didn't blog on day 1)
I don't think my placement of butter was proper and then it kept melting as the temperature is double than what it is required to roll the dough...but the running to fridge and rolling inbetween continued and i was finally able to roll and i messed up the foldings that would create the layers of dough but i still went along with however i can layer with my dough and they are ready for proofing
Here are my babies:
45 min till they go into the oven..i am waiting here, urging everyone to set a low expectation and hoping with all my heart that they rise and wobble a little...(thinking of wobble wobble baby song)
Ok let me put the song here:
Babies doubled in size and i could see some layers and it made me happy... Now they are in the oven. The room smells amazing
Tada!
Very happy with them. I think i have managed to make something that resembles croissants and tastes so too...
Very much in love with myself. Thank you.
