grace forgets himself and slips into eridian sentence structure when he gets carried away explaining science. rocky is able to follow along for an impressively long time

rocky stims by doing jazz hands when hes happy. you can take the man out of the whimsy but not the whimsy out of the man

grace making a very wonky version of The Ball:tm: and rocky just closes his eyes and breathes for a while. "What would this man even do without me. jesus christ." he does Not believe in graces engineering capabilities

rocky has ocd. no further questions

rocky was roused out of his coma early for reasons inexplicable to him. he deemed it too dangerous to try and induce his own coma, so he remained awake and did various repairs on the ship as his two crewmates slept. on the tail-end of an "all-nighter" yaos life support would begin to fail. rocky did everything he could to save yaos' life. and he couldnt. he would then begin checking dubois over obsessively. dubois' life support would also eventually fail, but something was different. he woke up. not for very long, just long enough for rocky to recognize the same animal panic in dubois' eyes as his own. just along enough to ask dubois not to leave him alone.

it was two years alone to tau ceti after this.

rocky probably has a better foundation of knowledge for radiation and relativity then most of us do, but he doesnt feel like hes capable of adequately explaining what happened to graces crewmates and he feels eeeaaally eeaally bad about it ❤

rocky is REALLY fast with arithmetic. not eridian fast but still fast. i want to believe that he'd be stubborn about doing it himself but that might be too inefficient for him. grace chirps out the answer thoughtlessly and rockys like. Well i was getting there but sure thanks

grace began to have suspicions about radiation as everybody got sick. its so frustrating because he could tell there was something he was missing, but he couldnt figure out what it was. he would've caught onto the fact that for some reason, astrophage insulated them from that mysterious & unknown danger. but maybe by then it was too late. who knows

grace was always "discordant" in the thrum. his stubbornness prevented him from ever truly "giving in" to it. he couldnt listen to others, and because of that others couldnt "listen" to him either.

^ its very atypical for an eridian to be non-partnering the way grace was. and he experienced a lot of social stigma around it. i think he wouldve studied those high atmosphere creatures before becoming a teacher. and before the sun started dying
