Hi! Yes, it was actually designed for needle/blood phobia in general.

It involved systematic desensitization (exposure to gradually more and more specific or realistic approximations of the stimulus while practicing relaxation techniques) combined with tensing of large muscle groups to keep blood pressure elevated (so no fainting). Let me see if I can find a journal article on the specifics.

I’m a fic writer of 20 years. I’ve got 40-50 stories out there for 6 different fandoms.

I respect your choices.

I’m also legitimately crying because it’s like reading a hurt/ non-comfort and my heart hurts.

But also I’m guessing yours hurts more so I won’t be selfish about it.

I will, however, publicly say that I would make sacrifices on an ALTAR of anyone’s choosing to be included in whatever small private group get the privilege.

That said, can we get you anything? Tea? Honey-cakes? A massage? Please practice all the self care.

Thankfully I haven’t experienced the negativity many authors have-largely because I’m not very visible and not that good-but I stand with all those authors who I respect very much and who have had to take steps to protect themselves and their works.

So whatever. Here it is. I’m starting to be more proud of my writing again even if it’s a niche genre. Even if it’s nothing compared to some of the really incredible writing happening in this fandom. A fandom this large sure knows how to humble you.

This is the first work in a collection of canon-compliant vignettes/ missing scenes set during The Cottage to be named ‘Cottagecore’. I have a whole lot of work for them to do while they’re there and a lot for them to get up to. Some of will be heavy, some light and fluffy. This one is somewhere in between. All are stand alone.
