I got a job offer earlier this week and did a quick reading about it, and the cards in my outcome position were a little bit ROUGH. That said, I really do want to leave my current job. I also was reading in a rush, and sometimes when Iâm not in the right headspace, or if Iâm asking silly questions, I feel like my deck will troll me on purpose. So Iâm questioning whether to try a new reading, or to really dig into the reading I already did...Â

shift until the two are one.Â
a quick 4 card spread to challenge oneâs current perspective.Â
1 - what you believe. this card shows what sums up your current perspective
2 - what you perceive. a card for what you see but do not necessarily allow yourself to believe. things you may purposefully ignore.Â
3 - as above. a quality of the side you favor and cling to, to overlook details.
4 - so below. something you fail to see because it is too close to you.Â

ACE OF CUPS - REVERSED
In the Ace of Cups, an illuminated dove approaches an overflowing golden chalice. The card itself is filled to the brim with water - a lotus flower rises above the sea, the water and sky are the same rich blue, and five streams of water pour from the cup. Elements of the heavens (sky, clouds, dove, light) all signify the spirit, while the streams of water show how we can be in touch with that higher energy through our emotions and senses. Reversed, the streams pour upwards and the heavens become the inner world.
The reversed Ace of Cups is all about the richness of your inner world. This card means itâs time to focus on your intuition, spiritual work, and self care. After all, water doesnât flow upstream. In what ways are you feeling disconnected? Where is your higher energy blocked? Are there any changes you can make that will help open those channels back up? Work to release and express your emotional self. You will be richer for it.
When the card is reversed, the lotus flower at the bottom of the card blossoms inwards, into the inner self. The reversed Ace of Cups is a great sign to delve into any creative or artistic pursuits - anything that taps into your emotions. If youâre starting any new journeys or projects, take some time to center yourself and get in touch with your intuition. Once you tap into your subconscious self, youâre in for some powerful growth.
đťInner Garden 3 Card Spreadđť
đWhat to grow? (What to focus on, nourish & cultivate in the coming lunar cycle)
đWhat to prune? (Things to watch out for or work on, the shadow work that needs attention)
đ¸What takes root? (What general element or theme will shape the next month? Often a little outside of our control)
đŞGot this spread from tumblr. Very grateful to have come across it. May you find some clarity too đđŞ
I chose this spread because it felt most right to do with what I wanted to know. I love the versatility of 3 card spreads & they are simple yet so skraight to the point of the matter.
I did this 3-card inner garden reading to mark Lughnasadh, aka the beginning of the harvest season (so harvest = garden was my thought process here). The three positions are:
INNER GARDEN 3-CARD TAROT SPREAD
1. What to grow - what to focus on, nourish, and cultivate in the coming lunar cycle
2. What to prune - things to watch out for or work on, the shadow work that needs attention
3. What takes root - what general elements or theme will shape the next month. This is often a little outside your control.
This spread is pretty straightforward, and Iâm usually shocked how cohesive it is for just three cards!
I just did this reading and omg! ItâŚif âwhew chileâ was a spread this would be it.
yeah this spread can pack a punch đ
The smiling dog is one regal boy, thatâs for sure! Despite his big grin, heâs a pretty serious pupâstanding for morality, authority, and discipline. If you draw him in a reading, youâll want to take the moral high ground for sure. One unique symbolism in this card is the backlighting (the way heâs bright on only the edges of his fur). This shows that, although things are shrouded in shadow right now, light is coming in. If you follow the most moral path, youâll notice that glow come back into your life. With such a detailed card, he also represents having high standards. Sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes not so muchâso itâs important to evaluate other cards you draw in a reading too. I think I happened to strike that balance well while painting him! Iâd love to know what you think of this card, so drop a comment below. P.S. This is the final painting of the deck! Now itâs just digital edits to get each card ready for printingâand thatâs not going to take very long. Iâm estimating 4-8 weeks before itâs ready for prototypes.
FOUR OF CUPS - REVERSED
In the Four of Cups, the figure sits in greenery. They donât notice the three full cups on the ground before them, nor the figure offering a fourth. In the Morgan Greer deck, the figure is so immobile that vines have grown around them and the ignored cups at their feet. Reversed, the ignored cups float at the top of the card.
The reversed Four of Cups is focusing on their inner world. Upright, the figure in the card is looking out into the distance, ignoring the cups before them. But when the card is reversed, the cups arenât sitting neglected on the ground anymore - the cups are gathered at the top of the card, connected to the figure by the green field. Reversed, the cups are the treasures that can be gained by looking inward. Sometimes, we all need to take a break from the outside world. Use this time to recenter and refocus.Â
Think of the outstretched hand as friends offering fun, social, exciting activities and opportunities. With this card, itâs much more tempting to stay engrossed in the inner world than accept what theyâre offering. Still, donât let your focus cut you off from the outside world completely. Itâs those connections and experiences that help us grow, and that color our inner world the next time we need to retreat.
In the below Inner Garden 3-card reading, the reversed Four of Cups is in the #3 position - what takes root. The card in this position is what general elements or theme will shape the next few weeks. This is often a little outside your control.
I did this reading for Lughnasadh, as a guide for this next few weeks until Mabon at the end of September. Unfortunately for me, the changing light (and maybe just awareness of the passage of time? idk) in September is usually a trigger for a depressive episode. So, this card is a reminder to take care of myself, prepare to step back for a time, and allow myself space & grace.Â
I think itâs so interesting when readings do this - when the cards give you something really personal. It feels like a friend checking in on you. In this reading in particular, the other two cards are all about making moves, so this reminder that this is a rough time of year for me is greatly appreciated. I can often feel the limits of my mental health as a personal failing, instead of what they are: health needs! The reversed Four of Cups in this position is a reminder that this is coming, itâs outside of my control, and itâs not necessarily negative. Itâs also a great reminder for me to stock up on granola bars, apple sauce packets, and Gatorade in my bedroom to keep myself fed & hydrated when itâs too hard to get into the kitchen <3

here is a sigil for you to use if youâd like! success will always come to you, as long as you persevere đ§ż
custom sigils available here
Some Sigil Basics
Ok so let me just start by saying this is some VERY beginner stuff that a close witchy friend gave me and I figured I would put it here to share with the world!
Begin with a simple phrase
Iâm going to use the phrase âI am safe and protectedâ because it is a little more complex
Take out all the vowels
In the instance of this phrase we are then left with âm sf nd prtctdâ
Take out duplicate letters
That will leave us with âm sf nd prtcâ
Match the alphabet to lettersâŚ
There is no other way to describe this than with a pictureâŚ
Match the letters to numbers
So âmsfndprtcâ = 416547923
Match the numbers together with lines on your circle
So another picture is⌠my only form of help!
Your sigil is finished!!!
So this is what mine looked like when I was totally done adding my flourish to it!
So this is⌠how itâs done? I know I probably did a TERRIBLE job at explaining this but I am willing to help anyone who has any questions!!!

SEVEN OF WANDS
The Upright Seven of Wands is on the defensive. An unseen crowd is rallying below them, vying for the position at the top. Still, they stand tall above the crowd defending the victory theyâve earned. The suit of wands corresponds to fire - the suit is all about protection, ambition, inspiration, and energy, and the Seven of Wands is using all of the above to defend themselves.
Youâre in an enviable position. Whether through hard work, creativity, or inspiration, youâve earned your recent victories. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy to see others succeed. There may be people hoping that you fail so they can step into the spotlight. It sucks to work hard to get something good, only to need to fight in order to keep it when youâd rather just enjoy yourself. The Seven of Wands isnât happy to be in the fight. Still, even though they look pretty grim, the fight is anything but hopeless - they have the high ground (Obi Wan Meme). Draw upon your past successes and the lessons learned along the way to stand tall in the face of rivals, naysayers, and meanies. Donât be afraid to protect what youâve earned.
An aspect of the Seven of Wands that reads very true to me (as a human with two anxiety disorders), but that I seldom see discussed is that sometimes the call is coming from inside the house. Whether through self-doubt, inertia, or imposter syndrome, you might be attacking yourself subconsciously. Donât sabotage yourself. Take time to quiet your mind and pay attention to your internal monologue. Are you trying to knock yourself down?
In the below Inner Garden 3-card reading, the Upright Seven of Wands is in the #2 position - what to prune. The card in this position is what to be mindful of, work on, and cut out over the next few months.
Itâs interesting to have this card in this position. In another position, Iâd interpret the Seven of Wands as a warning to watch out for negativity and advocate for myself. However, in this position - what to cut out - Iâm feeling like itâs saying the opposite. Our instinct may be to defend ourselves from people encroaching in our space, but the Seven of Wands in the #2 position is warning against getting defensive. Donât jump to conclusions about othersâ intentions; what might seem like an attack may be good advice, an offer to collaborate, even the beginning of a partnership. Open up; let your guard down. We shouldnât let defensiveness cut us off from opportunities to widen our circles. Instead of swinging a stick and to defend my position, I will look for opportunities to reach out my hand and bring others up with me.

one reason why learning body respect is so powerfulâand so discouraged by the mechanism of social control that is diet cultureâis that when we learn to honor our bodiesâ rights, needs, and wisdom, we become much more aware and less tolerant of violations in other areas of life.Â
when we are attuned to our bodyâs need for rest, we are much more aware of the violence of even the 40 hour work week (ofc work is far more violent than that)
when we carve out our own permission to accept our bodyâs natural weight set point, demands that we shrink our personality, our voice, or our emotions in order not to cause social offense feel like much less acceptable constrictions
when we learn to value our natural hair and skin, and give up harmful rituals like chemical straightening or lightening (or the beliefs that underlie them), other ways in which we are required to harm ourselvesâfrom a coerced gender presentation to living with the consequences of environmental racismâcome into clearer focus as specifically targeted violenceÂ
when we have compassion for our bodies and their vulnerability, we are more sensitive to mistreatment in personal relationships
the systems that make us sick and self-hating are political projects, enacted in ways that can be analyzed, understood, and changed. this movement is inward and outward, with the former supporting the latter (and vice versa). when our healing is rooted in wisdom and compassion and self respect, we inevitably turn those values outward, take them up against the structures which would strip them from us.
