I'm starting this blog because well, I love tumblr, and I thought, why the heck not...

I guess I really just want to have somewhere to drop my random thoughts and practice my writing(?)...

Isha Ambani in custom Gaurav Gupta. The outfit is a traditional Indian Saree woven with pure gold thread, that features hand painted Pichwal-inspired motifs and a sculpted cape. The look is adorned with a Gajra inspired hairpiece, made with paper, copper and brass by Sourabh Gupta and diamond necklaces, haathphools and a diamond waist belt.

The look implements the dress code, “Fashion is Art” in different ways, her blouse incorporated over 1800 carats of diamonds, emeralds, polki and kundan, it also included heirloom pieces from her mum, this simple detail gives the outfit a personal touch that adds depth. It creates a traditional, historical and personal piece.

Jordan Roth in Robert Wun. This look was inspired by the "Pygmalion and Galathea" painting by Jean-Leon Gerome, following the dress code "Fashion is art".

This look is so interesting and is the type of outfit that leaves an impression. I think it is an interesting interpretation of the theme, "Costume Art".

The 2026 met gala took place a few weeks ago, and I really love some of the looks I've seen so far and I want to talk about them, obviously, they're really good, and I really like the theme so...

THE WHITE MAN OF GOD...

This is the first book on African literature I've picked up this year, and I haven't finished it yet, but so far, I'm really enjoying the story...

The book explores themes of deconstruction, of religion and white supremacy, and the connection between white supremacy and Christianity, at least that's how I see it...

A man who craves power rat the expense of everyone and anyone else is someone who will have no trouble sacrificing the people they claim to love for their ambitions...

When Roderick and Madeline are offered the deal by Verna, he doesn't hesitate to agree, he's the one with children but he didn't think twice to offer them up selfishly, without considering what his children will want for themselves, and the worst part, he keeps having children, even with the knowledge of the deal he had made...

Ughh, this is such a beautiful and well-written story, it has just right amount of everything, from emotional value to action to comedy. I also really like the lore of the universe and enjoy the storytelling...

The characters are so entertaining to watch, it's so fun to watch them grow constantly, especially Frieren. I think she's a character that portrays really well how people never stop growing, she's lived for such a long time but she's still learning and growing, and she's so eager too as well, I think that's what I love the most about her...

And I have to say, something else I love is watching Fern and Starks' relationship grow, although I don't think I love it as much as Frieren does...

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER...

This show was such an entertaining watch and a really interesting depiction of Edgar Allen Poes' works...

This show was my first interaction with something produced by Mike Flannagan, who apparently is known for his on-screen representation of the works of Edgar Allen Poe, and I would say that the man definitely has a talent for this niche...

The show had such a captivating and shocking plot and twist that had me on the edge of my seat from the very first episode...

The story did such a good job at capturing just how powerful greed is and how it corrupts every aspect of your life, infecting everyone around you as well, and how it drives you selfishly sacrifice the people in your life that you claim to love for our own personal gain...

"Greed doesn't discriminate between the righteous and the sinful, it takes and takes, festers like a rot and destroys everything good around it"...

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU TANGERINES...

This story was so beautiful, I loved every minute of it, although, I'm pretty sure I cried enough tears to fill up an ocean, I have to say it was worth it...

IU's acting was so good, the way she was able to portray two very different, yet similar people so well, she played a mother and daughter beautifully well...

I think the story did so well in portraying how sometimes life happens (if that makes sense), Ae-sun had dreams before she had Geum-Myeong, she wanted to be a poet, and she did end up becoming one, it just happened much later than she had imagined, she had almost given up, thinking it was too late for her, but she didn't and Gwan-sik got to see her become a published poet before he died...

AFRICAN LITERATURE...

This year I'm hoping to consume more African literature, I know there are some really good ones out there, and I'm hoping to learn more about African cultures, languages, traditions and religions and from the perspective of different time periods too, and more specifically female authors...
