Bec | 26 | any pronouns |MDNI, 18+| Just another bg3 blog, mostly OC-focused I sometimes post fic and art when I feel like it :3| main: @becfromthedead
Hi, I'm Bec, just another bg3 player on Tumblr dot com. Made a sideblog so I don't flood my main with bg3 reblogs. This blog is mainly oc-posting. I will also be posting more general dnd stuff from time to time, especially since some of my bg3 ocs are either based on characters I played in campaigns, or went from bg3 to being played in a campaign.
I do art and write some fic, but I don't share a whole lot.
You can see my art here
You can find my writing here
You can find my OCs' cc specs here
Ask box is open. I'd love to answer questions about bg3, dnd in general, my ocs- pretty much anything, really.
Basics about my ocs:
Izzrhys Illith'vir (my main Tav, subject of a majority of art/fic stuff, I'm playing him in a dnd campaign as well)- he/him, drow, oath of devotion paladin (sometimes with 2 levels in life cleric), neutral good. Romancing Gale. Posts tagged oc: izzrhys illith'vir
Aesir Corvus (an actual dnd character I used, used them for my first tactician level bg3 campaign)- they/them, half high elf thief subclass rogue, chaotic good, romancing Wyll. They and Xarek are half-siblings. Posts tagged oc: aesir corvus
Xarek Do'rahel (originally a dnd character I played in a short campaign with my in-laws, turned the Tav for my second attempt at an honor mode playthrough. He won :3)- he/him, half drow fiend patron warlock, chaotic neutral, romancing Karlach. He and Aesir are half-siblings. Posts tagged oc: xarek do'rahel
Tiresias (technically my Curse of Strahd character in a campaign we're never finishing, although I did start a bg3 playthrough with him that I'll maybe see through, especially because he feels very morally different from my other ocs.) he/him, grave domain cleric of Loviatar, lawful evil, no romance selected, if I do pick one at all. Posts tagged oc: tiresias styggr
(Also, side note: I could not find anything that really fit him in cc, so this is as close as I'm getting. I have sketches that I'll post separately.)
Aratris of Thunder Peaks (my first Tav, made for a multi-player campaign), they/them, half-wood elf circle of the moon druid (though they probably spend more time in owlbear form than in humanoid form lmao), true neutral. Halsin romancer, although they did have a thing with Lae'zel. As of right now, it doesn't look like their campaign is ever actually getting finished sadly. Posts tagged oc: aratris of thunder peaks
Leoryn Reysharrana (obligatory bard playthrough???) they/she, high elf lore college bard, chaotic good, romancing Astarion Posts tagged oc: Leoryn Reysharrana
Galatea (My newest oc, a Durge that I would love to flesh out more) she/her, Asmodeus tiefling bladesinger wizard, neutral evil with a shift to chaotic good over time, romance tbd. Posts tagged oc: galatea
Then a couple of other characters who I created, but never really fleshed out:
Talaak (My one and only Dark Urge who is not fleshed out very much oops)- she/her, silver dragonborn storm sorcerer, neutral evil romancing Minthara
Roszira- she/her, a strongheart halfling who I lovingly refer to as the "world's worst Tav". She's multiclassed in everything. Yes, everything. Needless to say, she's incredibly indecisive. I made her to do one of the Steam achievements (multiclass into all classes without using withers) and I know there are a million easier ways to do it, but this has just become my fuck around and get achievements playthrough. Chaotic good. Romancing Shadowheart.
Update: I got so many achievements with Roszira's save file, and after hers, I only had two left, one of which was completing honor mode. Thank you for your service, Roszira. Sorry I turned you into a squid.

Drag is perhaps THE most central part of Miss Fortune's identity. It was their solace in a horrid upbringing and a way for them to express their truest self in a way that was embraced, even celebrated, by others.
I'm severely limited by BG3 CC and clothing mods that are both femme and made to fit BT2, but I think Miss Fortune still managed to turn it out. I'll share some of Miss Fortune's real-life drag inspirations below the VP. The call to learn how to mod just to recreate some of those looks is strong even though I do NOT have the time for that (I probably also don't have the skill).
Drag Inspirations (in no particular order)
There are too many to get a full list, but these four have turned out some amazing fashion looks that I think Miss Fortune would kill for.
Aquaria
Gottmik
Sasha Velour
Symone
Big thanks to @worfs-glorious-hair for including drag in the prompt list, I think my face just about cracked from the smile I got when I saw it 💜
"You know, I've been catching myself smiling more lately. I think that's your fault."
As I was drawing Nox (my Durge) last time, I realized I hadn't drawn the companions before either. It's time to redeem myself, starting with God's favorite princess: Shadowheart.

“Gods, I’d pay a king’s ransom for a hot, lavender-scented bath – minstrels serenading as I close my eyes and let the water’s warmth dissolve all woes.” 🛁🫧💜
Edit: this one and my other art are available as print on Redbubble and INPRNT !
This one is from a few weeks ago, but I saw @riddlerosehearts do some VP based on a qotd over on bsky. The prompt was to dress your OCs in the color of their birthstone.
Didn't feel like changing out their entire outfits, so I just threw some fresh dye colors on their usual clothes.
Iz was born 26 Kythorn (June), so his birthstone is pearl:
Then Xarek was born 30 Mirtul (May), so his is emerald. Aesir's birthday is 3 Alturiak (February), and their birthstone is amethyst:
I kind of love these alternate color schemes ngl, especially Xarek's.
functionally suicidal character saying “I would die for you” to their significant other and its like. I get the sentiment, honey, but if a hot dog vendor told me he’d sell hot dogs for me, I wouldn’t feel very moved now would I

(a mini-fic for bg3 pride month day 7: "yellow - sunlight")
this is the third of the fics + matching VP i plan to post for the rainbow flag days! it's 861 words and can be read below the cut, or on ao3 here if you'd like to leave a kudos or comment!
(if anyone ever wants to be on or off that list, or would like to be tagged specifically for my pride month mini-fics, just let me know!)
i made several photos for this one and they don't even perfectly match the fic but oh well. i wanted to recreate one specific moment but i wasn't sure how to do it, and i had fun with these anyway!
The first thing the morning gave him was sunlight spilling through the curtains.
The second was the smell of eggs and butter from downstairs.
For one disoriented heartbeat, Elenion nearly panicked over how late he must've slept. Then the morning settled around him properly. Waterdeep was quiet beyond the window, the Starlit Gallery was closed for the day, and Gale was making breakfast.
He stayed in bed a moment longer, warm beneath the sheets as he slowly woke.
Once, he would've braced himself for cold sheets and an empty bed. It had always hurt less when he left first, slipping away before dawn rather than staying long enough to reach for warmth that had already vanished.
Now, he smelled breakfast on the stove and heard Gale humming softly downstairs, and never wondered if he'd been left.
He only smiled into the pillow. Of course Gale was there.
When he finally wandered downstairs, he found Gale with his sleeves rolled up and his hair loose from sleep, frowning at the eggs as if they had just presented an argument he found academically unsound. A plate of fruit and pancakes was already keeping warm beside him.
Sunlight poured through the window beside him, catching the gray in his hair and making it shine like threads of gold.
For a moment, all Elenion could do was stand in the doorway.
"Good morning, husband," Gale said, with a fondness that made his heart give a ridiculous little stumble.
Terribly rude of his husband to do this to him first thing in the morning.
"Morning, babe," he said softly.
"You know," Gale said, still facing the stove, "I can feel you staring."
Insufferable, really.
"I'm just admiring the breakfast."
"You are admiring me in the general direction of the breakfast."
"Can a man not appreciate both?"
Gale looked back at him then, smiling in the morning light, and Elenion pictured himself doing something truly embarrassing. Like crossing the room just to kiss Gale on the cheek, or writing an unbearably sincere song about the sunlight in his hair before the eggs were even done.
Thankfully, before he could get farther than one hopeless step, Tara landed on the windowsill with a flick of her wings. "Mr. Dekarios, I do hope there is something suitable for civilized company."
"Silverdew-Dekarios now, Tara," Gale said, far too quickly.
Tara blinked at him. "Yes, quite right. Mr. Silverdew-Dekarios, then."
Gale's ears went pink.
"A fine name," she added, her yellow eyes softening in the sunlight. "Though you must forgive an old friend for taking time to adjust. I have called you Dekarios since you were a boy lecturing his porridge on consistency, after all."
"Tara!" Gale protested. "I am not certain that story needed preserving."
"All important history must be preserved, Mr. Silverdew-Dekarios." Tara glanced at Elenion. "Surely your husband, of all people, understands that."
Elenion broke into laughter before he could stop himself.
At nearly the same moment, their rabbit Moonbow burst into the kitchen and thumped one little white paw against the floor with all the urgency of a creature who had never been fed in her life.
Gale let out a weary sigh before surrendering to the inevitable. He presented a portion of fish to Tara as if it were a royal offering, then crouched to set Moonbow's greens on the floor. She sniffed the plate twice as if confirming the quality of his work, and only then did she accept them.
“Your household management has improved,” Tara said.
"My gratitude overwhelms me," Gale deadpanned.
"It should."
Elenion was still smiling when sunlight slipped over Gale's hand as he returned to the pan. The gold half of his wedding band gleamed bright against his skin, tiny moon engravings shining where his fingers curled around the edge of the counter. Elenion's matching ring, of gold moons and silver stars, suddenly felt warm on his own hand.
Once, Gale had nearly left the world behind for something higher, colder, lonelier. A place in the heavens, a name in prayers. A light too distant to touch. He'd offered to carry Elenion's name further than any mortal stage ever could, until the whole world sang his praise. The kind of glory that would drown out every doubt.
And yet this was everything Elenion wanted.
He loved Gale in the sunlight because it did not make him distant.
It found him here.
It gilded the gray in his hair, warmed the floor beneath his feet, and caught on the ring he wore because he'd chosen this mortal life beside Elenion.
And somehow, Elenion had chosen it too.
Later, when breakfast had been eaten and Tara and Moonbow had declared themselves satisfied in their own ways, Gale offered him his hand.
"Walk with me, my star?"
"Always, my moonlight," Elenion said.
His heeled boots clicked over sun-dappled cobblestones as they walked through busy market streets full of peddlers, performers, and yellow awnings. Not too long ago, he would've felt the press of so many eyes on him and reached for a mask. But being seen like this, walking in daylight with Gale’s hand warm in his own, felt nothing like performance.
It felt like home.
If anyone is curious, their wedding bands are basically combined versions of these rings I found online. The silver one was Elenion's originally and the gold one was Gale's, but they get cut in half and fused together to make half-and-half wedding rings as per a common Sword Coast tradition.
(I don't have any art of how the fused rings actually look. I should probably get some or draw an MS paint doodle lol)
What made you decide to have Coranzan romance Minthara? I'm intrigued because they seem so different.
Aaa! Thank you for the question! 💖 I love to yap about Coranthara! So thank you so much for your kindness and enabling me!
You're right, they're quite different. But they're also not. Which is why I think they're so fun.
TLDR: They're both victims of Menzoberranzan's Lolth cult and Coranzan has empathy for her on this. She's on the beginning of a long journey to discover who she is after Lolth. Despite their differences, he takes a lot of joy in meeting the energy of someone as ambitious, high-charged, and charismatic as him. Underneath them both is the desire to find someone they can figure out how to love another without the cult breathing down your neck.
Part of explaining this leans on my interpretation that Minthara isn't a typical Lolthite, even if she sounds rather typical on first glance. For someone who was a Baenre and steeped into the worst population of Menzoberranzan, she does a fair amount of questioning the way she was raised, offers other an extraordinary amount of trust, and is surprisingly forgiving. She loves hard and recklessly (her Priestess of Vandree story, instantly cuddling and sleeping next to Tav, etc). And she does it knowing it's extremely difficult:
"Loving another is not soft, wizard. It is one of the hardest things a person can do."
To go on about how she's breaking the norms, she resents her mother's brutal ways, has empathy for the way the woman she hated the most was raised in trauma by her own mother, and understands that the Lolthite way of life is the pathway to becoming a corpse in the name of a god that doesn't care about you. Most Lolthites wouldn't blink at this.
I see Minthara as an ex-Lolthite drow woman on the cusp of major change but we didn't get to see that come to fruition over the course of her story.
Coranzan was also a Menzoberanyr commoner, and while he wasn't perpetuating things quite to the level Minthara was, he was part of Keptolo's scheme to draw men to Lolth's side on a large scale, making him another cog in the system perpetuating the abuse cycle against his own people and his own gender in Lolth's name. It took a similar realization that these gods will leave you for dead despite having made their schemes your life's goal.
Coranzan was given the opportunity to redeem himself by turning to Eilistraee and strongly believes that others should be given that chance as well, Eilistraeen or not. And naturally when Minthara joins and he understands she's rejected Lolth, he takes it as his duty to help her survive her new life as an exile. He sticks to her side, draws her into the group so she's not isolated, and generally won't leave her be as drow often flounder on their own, becoming isolated or hated by surface folk.
He demonstrates a dedication to supporting her and protecting her rather than preaching to her, and I think that strengthens his case. His dedication is returned by their own - their differences over what to do with the Absolute is met with a mutual understanding on the enemy at hand and a stubborn care for one another.
Over the course of staying close to her, he sees Minthara as an incredibly charismatic and witty personality with a sense of humor that can destroy him. Being an eloquence bard himself, he matches her sense of humor and enjoys a back-and-forth with her he hasn't experienced in a very long time. They enjoy trading barbs back and forth, brutally eviscerating each other, and telling jokes that makes the rest of the camp cringe hard.
Where Coranzan and Minthara weren't likely to work together was over the fact that they would struggle to reveal their hearts to each other, despite their feelings - they've both had their hearts hurt for loving others and they are Menzoberranyr drow, of course - it's not easy for them.
However, in this case, they have the tadpole to communicate their feelings and get past their walls and facades. Minthara and he share a rare moment of vulnerability that would take decades of trust otherwise. She initiates this by seeking out his thoughts, apologizing, and then seeking permission to see his thoughts. Not many drow women would ask for this - Eilistraeen or Lolthite. It's huge to him that she asks... but also that she wants to know his feelings - it's clear she values his thoughts and opinions, despite her tough exterior. And this is more than he gets from a lot of drow women.
This is already really long so I won't go further into it but Coranzan himself is also going on a journey to figure out who he is outside of Eilistraee's church as well and Minthara is pushing him to reconsider his ties to the church, even if he won't budge on his dedication to EIlistraee and her mission.
