of course, the irony about this cartoon - which I assume is meant to demonstrate shallow selfie culture desecrating the great classics - is that among other things a) hamlet is a disaffected young man suffering from depression and, frankly, deeply self-absorbed and b) the entire play is obsessed with the idea of performance and performativity and so absolutely hamlet taking selfies would be in the spirit of the original because a selfie is a new way of constructing the self through images

I just saw someone say they were in pre-school on September 11th. I was in 8th grade. I can’t even deal with the ridiculousness. how are you NOT still a fetus? chiiiiiiiiile.

As per Nash’s request on the air few months back, I’ve put together a scoreboard of all the WTFIWWY nonsense. Starting with the earliest episode on the RDA YouTube Channel (5/9/11) up through the end of this year (12/29/15) I went through every uploaded video and cataloged the stories because clearly I am insane. Four and a half years of madness, friends. I ended up with 48 reoccurring categories and subcategories. The things listed are only things that have come up in stories featured on the live show, and don’t include the edited compilations, the “Hookerween” segments or the “That Doesn’t Go There” year-end specials (which, unrelatedly, didn’t seem to make the transfer to YouTube. Anybody have copies of those?). Making this was a pretty wild ride, and I intend to add to it as more craziness happens.

Thanks to @nashscribblings and @taraatrandom for sitting through the WTFery week after week in order to amuse us with these stories. Also thanks to @fuckyeahradiodeadair for the weekly recap screenshots, which made keeping track of things while cataloging much easier.

Things that I didn’t count but probably should have: -Number of incidents where the person was on meth -Number of incidents in Florida -Bad Halloween costume ideas, mostly because “Hookerween” is its own segment -Counts of drunk driving -Counts of drones where drones shouldn’t be -Counts of people setting things on fire -Things getting through the White House fence or onto the Capitol lawn -Counts of blackface -Counts of “half-naked”. Men or women without shirts didn’t make it to the scoreboard (though looking back I might have had enough stories to add a “no one wants to see your tits” count) and neither did women who were pantsless. Men without pants generally wound up in the “No One Wants to See Your Dick” category, though I did my best to reserve that for men who were actively trying to show off their dick to other people rather than just lump that in with “naked”.
