“No, I’m fine—I’m good,” Hanta says. They’re just back from dinner and drinks anyway, two former school friends catching up in between the rigors of hero work.

“Ah,” Todoroki says, and then he’s stepping forward into Hanta’s very personal space until there’s none left between them at all, his voice dropping perilously low. “Then I’ll skip all the boring hospitality shit, if you don’t mind.”

“Wow,” Hanta says, absolutely stunned as Todoroki slides a hand against his waist to pull their bodies flush together. “Damn.”

by demanding that the people who ao3 was l i t e r a l l y made by and for stop using the site and go somewhere else you’re pretty much performing the fandom equivalent of being invited into someone’s house and then five minutes into the visit screaming at them to get out of your home and find somewhere new to live. 

They also spent a good amount of the rest of the 30% budget on significant server overhaul costs. 

AO3 is literally a service you get for free and the audacity you’d have to not bother reading the very open budget plan they have, but to then bitch and whine about people donating to keep the site running is wild. 

People on the Internet have been using accusations of pedophilia and child pornography to silence things they dislike for decades. It’s not new, and its primary effect is to allow actual abusers to escape detection, because the vocal critics are flooding law enforcement inboxes with spurious reports.

The spurious reports are, invariably, directed at marginalized and vulnerable people. People it’s safe to attack. AO3 exists precisely because that consistent pattern of targeting vulnerable people on trumped-up charges has been causing our communities a great deal of pain for longer than most of the current crop of attackers have been alive. Please continue to support AO3.

Don’t go throwing that kind of terms and extremely serious around while meaning something completely different entirely.

I suspect they’re doing this because they’re the one causing measurable harm to CP survivors and current victims and they’re too cowardly to face that. Sunk cost fallacy is fucked up like that. People don’t like to acknowledge the harm they’ve done, so when they see evidence of it they plug their ears.

Ironic, considering.

Anyway, if OP really cares about CP victims, they’ll at least also start deleting or addressing comments advising people to report fiction to law enforcement agencies, whose resources need to be going to catching actual child abusers. And if they don’t do that… well, we know who’s on the side of the predators.
