I swear Iāve been doing work, just not posting many WIPs. Just finished up my favorite bug Pokemon, first of my PokedeXY art challenge (Iām going to give myself a year I finish because Iām trying to be realistic and donāt want to half ass any of these)
WHHHAAAT this is so cool How do you get the pieces of clay so clean like that is some sort of magic man
My only secret: Pasta rollers are wonderful, wonderful inventions. Roll out a thin and perfectly uniform sheet of clay, cut out your design/layer/whatever with an exacto, then press it into the sculpture while trying not to ruin that nice hard edge.
I probably bake my sculpts far more often than I should, but it definitely helps me avoid crushing details when adding new ones.
And I guess the eldritch magic doesn't hurt...

This was my first time going for a more realistic sort of sculpture, and Iām really pleased with the results. Of course I forgot to take any pictures of the finished product, but hopefully I have some coming from my cousin who ended up with him.

So my dad stole a pumpkin from work last night. I woke up and got excited. 6 hours later we have Wrecks from Motion City Soundtrack's My Dinosaur Life. Turns out that it wasn't a particularly good carving pumpkin: over 2" thick and very fibrous. But a fun experience anyway! First time I've carved a pumpkin in like 6 years.
Karkat charm for Naknaknaknakolicious, winner of the charm giveaway that I held in August. She wanted him to be a surprise, and I just heard back from her the other day, so now I can post the pictures, YAY!

Hey everybody, I thought I'd try my hand at offering sculpting commissions in case anyone was interested. Since tumblr can be unreliable when it comes to asks getting eaten, send any inquiries to: [email protected] IĀ am willing to sculpt just about anything (excluding NSFW subjects). As long as you provide good reference photos , I can sculpt characters from any game / anime / whatever you want (as long as the creators are cool with it. So sadly, no Homestuck).
Lower Tier -- Ā $20 This tier encompasses charms. Charms are usually between 1" and 1.75" tall with moderate detail sculpted in. All charms are sealed with 2-3 coats of glossy sealer for added durability and come with a phone strap.Ā Examples (x) (x) (x)
Middle Tier -- Ā $25-$60 ThisĀ tier is kind of a catchall for all of my freestanding figurines that are less detailed than my big, super-detailed pieces that make up the upper tier, but more detailed than my charms. Price would have to be determined after receiving reference photos and talking about the size and amount of sculpting detail desired. Things like wings or difficult poses would increase prices. Upper TierĀ Ā -- $75+ The most detailed sculptures that I do, usually standing between 5" and 7" tall, with a much higher level of sculpted detail. Just as with the middle tier, price would be negotiated ahead of time depending on the difficulties that the character poses, size amount of accessories, pose, etc... Due to the large investment in my time and your money, progress photos would be sent to you via email at certain stages to be okayed before I continue working on the piece. This would include a picture of the bulked out armature to okay the initial pose. The next checkpoint would be the roughed out anatomy before the first bake and detailing. The final photos would be sent after detailing is done, before I start painting to ascertain that I didn't miss anything in the sculpting process. I'd probably also send you detail shots of little things that I'm proud of, because I get excited.Ā Examples (x) (x) (x) (x) (x) Shipping is included in all prices for orders within the continental US (additional charges for overseas shipping would be added on to the base price as necessary) And as always, signal boosts are immensely appreciated!
