And that’s ok.

There are those who say they ship zutara but are not zutarians.

Yes, there’s a difference.

We zutarians are zutara stans. That doesn’t mean we don’t ship anything but. It’s just that zutara is our main otp.

Some write comprehensive ‘theses’ (plural) defending their reasons why they ship it, some get into discourse with antis, others create beautiful art, some create wonderful fanfics, others share them and give encouragement, others post memes poking fun at canon, and why not? And some prodigies can actually do all of the above.

Call it ‘cultish’ if you will, maybe stemming from your own jealousy perhaps, we don’t care. We call it passion. Maybe something your fandom lacks.

We zutarians also have our differences but despite those, it doesn’t stop me from shipping it 🤷🏽‍♀️. No matter how nasty some antis are, it doesn’t stop me from liking Mai or maiko to a certain degree.

You’re probably only there for the fanart or the fanfic, maybe even created arts and fics yourself. You’re probably what’s called a casual shipper, like I am with maiko and maitara. I like Maiko. I really do, but I prefer them to be past tense. I and many others feel that Zuko is better with Katara and that should be ok. We ship who we wanna ship.

So don’t use some of ‘us’ as an excuse for not liking the ship. Because if you truly understood the sense of it all? You would get it. You would get the myriads of the fandom.

You would get ‘us’.

So to simplify…

Some get it, some don’t.

And that’s fine.

If you get it, you get it.

If you don’t, you don’t.

And nobody probably told you about that till now.

Because if you truly ‘get it’? No amount of ‘bad’ zutarians would make you not like zutara in its entirety.

Can't believe I haven't done Zutara since just now. Forgive me for I have sinned. But I freaking love that AU where Katara is the Fire Lady or an Ambassador for the Water Tribe, because both are awsome.

And I just had this idea where Zuko is so inlove with his wife because! YES! Freakin enjoyed drawing their royal attire (or something) and Katara's hair.

okay, i wanted to have more done by the time i posted this, but i couldn’t wait any longer. zutarians who like the lunar chronicles i present to you... zutara as kaider!! i was rereading the series and i thought their dynamics were very similar so here they are! i love them! this is a redraw of a scene from the first book, cinder. link to the og art is here. this probably not an original idea, but i haven’t seen this before so i wanted to do it myself. there will be more to come!

Hello and good morning all you lovely Zutarians on this site.

I have a youtube channel where I critique movies and shows, and I’m doing a giant Zutara meta analysis that I hope to have ready to upload by Zutara month (this April).

I haven’t been part of the ATLA fandom for a long time, but Zutara was the thing that actually got me into critical analysis, so this is like me returning to my roots at long last :D

I’m asking you all for help, because I have very limited video editing/photoshop skills. You know that scene where Zuko saves Katara from lightning? (Of course you do.) Is there any chance any of you are whizzes enough at editing, that you can do a “deepfake” and put Sokka there instead of Zuko? Reasons will become clear when you see my vid.

I can try to do it myself but it will probably look terrible so I thought I’d put the message out there.
