The straight ships that had me on a chokehold along the years 😩 (will make a lesbian ships post too in a few mins so stay tuned)
«Seni mutlu etmek istedim».
Oh don’t get me wrong. I outgrew my angsty torture guy phase at 15. Kanat can eat s***. Now I’m into wholesome TV himbos who wear aprons and watch movies with their gals (p.s watch Kdrama Run on. You’ll know what I mean)
But since drama gonna drama and angsty hero gonna angsty hero, we may as well find a way to kill time. Like this: favourite enemies-to-lovers relationship you’ve seen?
If we're talking enemies to lovers in dizis, one of the best I've seen would be Zeyker (Zeynep and Kerem) from Güneşi Beklerken. By the way, Duy Beni had major Güneşi Beklerken vibes at the beginning. Still has, I'd say. But Kanat was basically a puppy in the first episodes compared to Kerem. The guy's a jerk of enormous proportions. But, unlike Kanat, he did change when he fell in love. There was a period of aggressive denial though. After that it became clear that he'd never hurt Zeynep on purpose and would never let anyone else hurt her. When he messed up, he grovelled at Zeynep's feet.
I'm not sure Akmur (Akgün and Yağmur) from Son Yaz can be qualified as enemies to lovers. They weren't enemies at the beginning but they definitely had a rough start. There was dislike and mistrust. I love how they grew from that. I guess I'm just looking for an excuse to mention Akmur yet again 🙈😂 What can I do - I love them.
If we look beyond dizis there's one enemies to lovers couple that's - in my opinion - probably the best to exist out there. Started out as literal mortal enemies, tried to kill each other multiple times, took revenge on each other, called truce, helped each other, betrayed each other. But also ended up having a baby together, living together and raising their kid, while getting to know and trust each other and ultimately falling in love. That's Nick and Adalind from The Grimm. It was an NBC supernatural show that, I think, aired around 2011-2017.

oh my god i had to print screen this it was too good
FIRST THIS BOY GIVES HER A BREAK UP SPEECH AND HAS HER ABOUT TO CRY BECAUSE HE WAS TRYING TO SURPRISE HER AND THEN HIS DECORATED CAR DRIVES UP AND HE GETS DOWN ON ONE KNEE AND HE PROPOSES AND SHE FAINTS (eye roll but its fine) AND SHE THINKS IT WAS A DREAM THEN REALIZES ITS REAL SO THEY START KISSING:
AND THEN KEREM ASKS “is that a yes” TO WHICH ZEYNEP REPLIES:
lol meanwhile ufuk in the car:
--i am ufuk and ufuk is me just giving heart eyes to the couple (although he very respectfully averts his eyes during the kisses, something i most definitely did not do)
Everything that made me fall in love with you now gives me pain. You were an enemy once, an obstacle. Then you became a stomache...a face that I couldn't get out of my mind...you were there even when I closed my eyes. Now you've become a trouble that always pursues me. So love is like this... It's a trouble that everybody warns you to stay out of.
