the subtitles are a little confusing in this video sometimes. i feel like maybe they used some machine translating, or the person translating isn't that good at english. there were times when the pronouns were a little off (i.e. using we instead of you (plural) etc.)
so jaebeom explained that when he was a trainee, there were various 'stages' so if you got to a certain stage through merit, then you could learn some more skills
