Corvus side eyes the pair, shaking his head quickly. “It won’t last long. My bet is on Ursula.”

The woman snickered. Sliding a well deserved bet over to Corvus. “Mines on Enjin. Let’s see how long they last like this before one of them are at each other’s throats.”

imagine you and your f/o(s) sitting down on the sofa. anything important for the day has been marked off the checklist. you can finally exhale and chill together for a bit.

you reach, with one hand, for the remote. the other rests just an inch, maybe a few more, away from your (nearest) partner’s. you exchange casual glances at each other, in a silence which hides an intent for agreement, before you both nod and you finally turn on the TV.

what is the first thing that pops up as the screen lights up? a comedy show, a romance movie? the news broadcast, maybe, if you're feeling a bit more serious?

whatever it is, your f/o(s) do/esn't seem as invested as you are. yes, they do look at what's happening now and then, but their attention is drawn, for the most part, by your face as you're enchanted by the ensuing shenanigans. five minutes pass, then ten, then again half an hour, more time runs away—and they start to get pouty, either literally or mentally. when will you ever turn to face them, they think? when will you focus your attention on them? they want it to be their turn to be looked at with such eyes full of wonder. yet they don't feel like interrupting you, they convince themselves that begging you in their head will miraculously make you understand—

—until you move. by sudden odds in their favour, your free hand, the one so painfully close to theirs at the beginning, finally lingers over it, before they feel a crumb of the warmth that was being so yearned for until seconds ago. they don't complain. they don't care. they couldn't possibly be happier in this moment, especially as you turn to face them.

“i don't know about you, but i’m getting bored” is all they need to hear before they become a puddle in front of you. “how about we kiss for a bit, mm?”

they don't need to be asked twice.
